FUTURE REQUEST President Eisenhower presents
Mrs. Ivan Kincheloe Jr., with a letter addressed to who
ever will be President of the U. S. in 1972, asking him to
appoint Mrs. Kincheloe's son, Ivan 01 to the Air Force
Academy then. Mrs. Kincheloe is the widow of Ivan
Kincheloe Jr., who died last July from injuries received
in testing the F-104 jet plane. Ivan m is now 19Vi months
old. Ceremony took place at the White House in Wash

said. He told reporters that at
one time during the 14-hour
nightmare he and Fleming
were within half a mile of the

to my room and got my own.
"As I came up the ship was

"The superstructure of the
ship rolled over on its side.
The ship sank beneath me

ter," he said.
