nuptial mass held August 2
at Sacred Heart Catholic
church. The Rev. William Mc
Leod officiated at the ten
o'clock morning ceremony at
tended by 80 relatives and
friends.
The bride Is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sechler,
54 Rose street. Mr. King is
a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
King, Eugene.
Pink and white gladiolus
decorated the church for the
wedding and Miss Carol Rob
inson played the wedding
music.
The bride wore a ballerina
length white silk organza
frock with Chantilly lace ac
cents. She carried a bouquet
of white gladiolus and white
carnations. Mr. Sechler es
corted his daughter to the
altar.
Mrs. Stanley Read served
as matron of honor for her
sister. She wore a pink lace
frock and carried a nosegay
bouquet of pink and white
gladiolus. Miss Lynda Ann
Sechler, sister of the bride,
and Miss Mary E. King, sister
of the bridegroom, were
bridesmaids. They wore blue
sheath frock with blue chiffon
cummerbunds and carried
nosegay bouquets of pink and
white gladiolus. -

Cancel Meeting
Jackson County Republican
Women announce that the
August meeting, set for Au
gust 18, has been canceled.
The club had planned a lunch
eon with Mark Hatfield, Re
publican candidate for gover
nor, as speaker.
Mrs. Lester Adams, presi
dent, states that due to the
demands on Mr. Hatfield's
time, and to the fact that
women of the club are assist
ing with a Republican picnic
to be held Monday evening,
cancellation of the luncheon
was found necessary.
Mr. Hatfield will be a guest
of the Chamber of Commerce
Round Table at 12 noon Mon
day in the Pioneer room of
the Jackson hotel and those
wishing to meet him are asked
to attend that luncheon in
stead. He will also be present
for the picnic.
Republican Women's next
meeting will be September 15
at Girls Community club.

Picnic Meeting
Held by Group
Medford Toastmistress club
held its August meeting as a
picnic at the home of Mrs.
Clarence Wilson, Walden lane,
Wednesday evening.
Miss Anna Streed gave the
invocation and following din
ner Mrs. Arnold Bohnert led
in community singing. The
program theme was outdoor
sports. Mrs. Clarence Rolls,
toastmistress, introduced Mr.
Thomas Ball who spoke on
touring.
Mrs. Harry Marshall was
moderator of a panel which
discussed outdoor sports.
Members of the panel were
Mr. Marshall, Clarence Wil
son, John Schnieder, and Mrs.
Arnold Bohnert. At the con
clusion of the discussion the
group observed Sputnik in.
The next meeting of the
group will be September 10 at
7:45 p jn at the Girls Com
munity club.
Ballerina From
Celeste Troupe
To Give Lessons
Miss Lanova, head of the
Ballet Celeste from San Fran
cisco, will be guest instructor
for two lessons at the Colleen
Hope Dancing Studio, 45
Hawthorne avenue, August
22.
The classes will be open
to all Interested persons. The
9 a.m. class is for younger
students with one or more
years of ballet training. At
10 a.m. the second calss will
be held for teen age, adult
and any youngsters with
three or more years of train
ing. Students attending the
classes must wear leotards
and ballet slippers.
Interested persons should
contact the studio regarding
charges for the lessons.
Miss Hope and Miss Rose
mary Tekar will return to
Medford August 21 following
a study session with the San
Francisco Ballet. They are
also attending sessions of tap
and modern jazz at the Ma-son-Kahn
studio in the evenings.

Plan Show
Prospect The Prospect
Garden club will hold its an
nual Flower and Hobby
show, Friday, August 22, at
Prospect Community nail.
The show will be open from
1 until 8 p.m. with entries
being accepted from 9 a.m;
until 12 noon the same day.
The non-competitive show is
open to all interested persons.
Entries will be received
from any member of the com
munity and may be entered
by an individual or as a club
from other Garden clubs in
the Siskiyou district.
Nine entries in the hobby
have been promised so far and
include ceramics, tooled cup
per, agate cutting and pol
ishing, miniature pitchers
canes, fabric flowers, and a
collection of mounted birds by
Carl Richardson of the Laur-
elhurst district. Theme of the
shpw is "everything under the
sun" and includes seven sec
tions. They include arrange
ments of garden flowers and
branches in 12 and 15 inches
heights, miniature arrange
ments not over five inches
tall, color harmony, special
arrangements, house plants,
seasonal arrangements and
horticulture.

Annual Picnic
The annual picnic of Med
ford Women's Christian Tem
perance union will be held at
the ranch home of Dr. and
Mrs. Bert Elliott, Friday, Aug.
22, at 11 a.m.
Election of officers will be
held. The devotions will be
given by Mrs. Elliott and then
Dr. and Mrs. Elliott will show
pictures of some of ,' their
many travels.
