Cocktail Party
Honors Couple
Mr. and Mrs. David Brain
erd of Petaluma, Calif., were
honored at a cocktail party
given Friday evening by Mra.
Brainerd's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. E. A. Littrell at their
home on Greenway circle.
About 100 guests attended.
Among the guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Bruee Pickett,
Salem, and Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Vannice and the Faye
Bristols, all of Grants Pass.
The Picketts are here to spend
some time with Mrs. Pickett's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. F.
Pickett, 206 Portland avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Brainerd and
their daughters, Jan and Lyn,
left yesterday afternoon. They
also visited Mr. Brainerd's
brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Philip Brainerd, and
his mother, who lives in
Grants Pass, while in Ore
gon. The David Brainerds
formerly lived in Medford.
Three Honored
At Informal Tea

day afternoon by Mrs. Paul J.
Dix and Mrs. H. Dewey Wil
son honored Mrs. E. G. Sil
den, Mrs. Sidney Tickton and
Mrs. Lawrence Buonocore.
Mrs. Silden, from Florida, and
her daughter, who lives in
Great Neck, New York, are
here to visit Mrs. Silden's sec
ond daughter and her son-in-law.

The tea was given at the
Wilson home, 508 North Berk
eley way. Pouring were Mrs.
William Duhaime, Mrs. Stuart
McQueen and Mrs. Joseph
Clark.

a vacation trip which took
her as far north as Pt. Barrow,
Alaska. Mrs. Exline traveled
by plan and boat.

Miss Margaret Jean Alley
and John Aris Bellack were
married July 26 in a ceremony
held in Reno, Nev. The Rev.
Raymond Walters officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hadley
Alley, 124 Greenway circle,
Medford, and the bridegroom
is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
Bellack, 1475 Crater Lake
avenue. The bride was grad
uated from Medford High
school and attended Stephens
college, Missouri, for one year.
Mr. Bellack also was gradu
ated from Medford High
school and will return to the
University of Oregon this fall
for his junior year in geology.
Mrs. -Bellack also plans to at
tend the university.
The bride was honored at
a cocktail party and shower
given Wednesday afternoon by
Mrs. Walter Graff and Mrs.
O. J. Halboth at the latter's
home on Hillcrest road.
Twenty -four guests attend
ed. The centerpiece for the
serving , table was a bride's
bouquet of pink rosebuds and
pink candles. The bouquet
was presented to Mrs. Bellack
at the end of the party. The
presents were arranged in a
doll house.
Two Now Home
After Trip East
Mrs. H. L. Mooney
and
daughter Marilyn, have re
turned to the Mooneys' home
on Hillcrest road after spend
ing the past two months in
the midwest and eastern
states. The. two visited Mrs.
Mooney's family in Carthage,
Mo., and then continued east
where they spent some time
with the Mooneys' two older
daughters, Mrs. Malcolm Sam
ple, Demarest, N. J. and Mrs.
M. F. Erieg, Garden City, Long
Island.
While in New York they
visited the United Nations and
the 'United States Military
academy at West Point, as
well as other places of in

son is a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Rex Allison, Gold Hill.
The Rev. John Ilg officiated
at the 10 o'clock morning nup
tial mass attended by 125 rel
atives and friends. White and
pink gladiolus decorated
the church for the event and

the organ wedding music.
The bride wore a white
Chantilly lace over satin frock
with lace train and her chapel
length veil, was held by a
pearl crown. She carried a
bouquet of white stephanotis
and pink roses arid the heir
loom locket she wore first
worn by her great-grandmother
has since been worn by
every bride in the family.
Mr. Botchek escorted his
daughter to the altar. -,
Miss Carol Schmidt', Twisp,
Wash., was honor attendant
for her cousin while Miss Jan
et O'Malley, Portland, and
Miss Ellen Swick, Seattle,
another cousin of the bride,
were bridesmaids. They wore
pink chiffon frocks with white
lace collars and pink chiffon
picture h-ts. Their bouquets
were of garnet roses and white
daisies. Little Mary Hubbard,
Riverside, Wash., was flower
girl for her cousin. She wore
a pink dress.
Richard Clark served as
best man while Victor Had
ley, Kenneth Walker and Rob
ert Allison, Gold Hill, brother
of the bridegroom, seated the
guests.
Mrs. Botchek wore a white
linen sheath dress with white
accessories and a corsage of
white stephanotis. Mrs. Alli
son chose a blue nylon organ
dy dress with pink accessories
and pink rose corsage.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held in the
church annex. Mrs. John Col
lins cut the wedding cake and
Miss Darlene Allison served
the cake." Miss Alexa Hibbard
presided at the punch bowl
and Mrs. Orville Swick
poured the coffee. Mrs. John
Wall was in charge of the
guest book.
The couple traveled to the
California coast on their
wedding trip, the bride wear
ing a beige linen sheath frock
with matching accessories.
They plan to return to the val
ley today and will make their
home at 433 South Grape
street.
The bride and bridegroom
are both graduates of St.
Mary's High school, Medford.
The bride is employed as a
clerk at the Big Y Market.
Mr. Allison, who will be a
senior at Southern Oregon
college this fall, is employed

noon length and her veil was
held by a cap of matching

ried a bouqlet of red roses
