Leg To Mower

four-year-old boy lost his left
leg above the kneecap Mon
day after he was pulled under
a power mower at the Elgin
high school football field.'
The boy, Bobby Snyder, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Sny
der of Elgin, was reported in
"good" condition.
Doctors credited Ted Shad
ewitz, football coaodi at El
gin, with helping to save the
boy's life by applying a tour
niquet soon after the accident.
Shadewitz first took the boy
to the Elgin first aid car and
then he was rushed 21 miles
to Grande Ronde hospital
here.
