at the coronation. Malta
Knights Templar, formed the
honor guard.
Miss Chubb is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chubb
of Shady Cove.

Miss Chub introduced her
parents and was "presented a
gavel by her father. Miss
Chubb received her queen's
pin from Miss Dunlap and in
turn presented Miss Dunlap
with her past honored queen's
jewel. Mrs. Dale Akerman
presented the queen with the
traditional bethel gift of the
queen's tiara.

The queen's theme "Dream,"
and her colors of pink and
gold were used as decorations
in the bethel and dining room.
A pink and white arch framed
a pink back ground which
was covered with a gold moon
and stars. Colorful gold and
pink stars hung from the ceil
ing. Miss Barbara Henderson
sang the theme song "Dream".
An addendum was given by
the bethel members,' each
dressed in baby-doll clothing
and carrying stuffed animals.
A dream pillow of net was
given the honored queen for
her gift ribbons.
Refreshments were served
by the guardian council. The
petits four were decorated in
pale pink icing and deeper
pink roses with gold leaves.

36E of Oregon for the auxil
iary, at the annual convention
held in Eugene last week.
District 36E is made up of
southwest Oregon counties
and one California club.
The cake was decorated by
Mrs. Earl Sheppard of Shady
Cove.

Contest Planned

"mother of the year" contest.
Any organization or club in
the Eagle Point School dis
trict may submit a candidate.
The award will be present
ed at the annual style show
and tea of the organization.
The next meeting of the
group will be held Thursday,
July 3, at the home of Mrs.
Bert Simmons, with Graynell
Krambeal and Tommy Kim
mel assisting.
The last , meeting of the
group was held at the home
of Mrs. Don Kimmel with
eight members present. Mrs.
Jerry Bishop and Mrs. J. W.

honored Mrs. John Murphy on
her 78th birthday anniver
sary. It was the first time in
32 years that all of Mrs. Mur
phy's children were together
with their mother, and 63 at
tended. Present were Mrs. . Lizzie
Hoover and sons, Don, 'Larry
and Joe and daughter, Bar
bara, Beaver, Okla., Mrs.
Myrtle Braden, of Fort Scott,
Kansas; Mrs. Sam Oetinger,
Central Point; Mr. and Mrs.

Aztec, N. M., Mr. and Mrs. H.
W. Brock, Lebanon, Ore.; Mr.
and Mrs. Ira Brock and son,

Mackinac Island, Mich.
(UPI) Week end shopping
for Mackinac Island house
wives during the winter
means a six-minute hop across
Lake Huron to either Macki
nac City or St. Ignace.
When ice locks in the is
landers for the winter, most
of the housewives shop on
Saturday afternoon, taking a
$3.50 aerial round trip to the
state's mainland.
The airlift to the island- is
operated by John Sturgeon,
one of the owners of the light
planes that are equipped with
skis to ferry freight and pas
sengers.
Sturgeon's ferrying service
also -includes hauling back all
the groceries the women can
carry.
