Methodist Church Scene
Of Myers - Morton Rites
Among the many weddings held in Medford last week
end wjthat of Miss Linda Jenell Morton and Kenneth Lewis

berry officiated at the double-ring ceremony. About 125

The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore a
wedding gown of white taf
feta with fitted bodice of
nylon lace, and lace tunic
over the very full tiered tulle
skirt. Her finger tip veil was
held by a crown of seed pearls.
Her bouquet was fashioned of
pink rose buds, white carna
tions and stephanotis, and cen
tered with a wrgte orchid.
Miss Dianne Barker, Grants
Pass, ws maid of honor, and
bridesmaids were Miss Norma
Brainard, Miss Charlotte Lam
bert and Miss Lana Salyers.
Miss Barker wore a ballerina
length frSck of lime green taf
feta with chiffon drapery over

Marry Couple

Francis J. O'Connor will
make their home at Route 1,
Box 103, Gold Hill, when
they return from a wedding
trip this -eek.
The bride, is the former
Josephine M. Teeter, Gold
Hill. The bridegroom has
been making his home at
Camp White. They both are
employed at the Bureau of
Reclamation at Camp White.
The couple were married
Monday, June 23, at eight
o'clock in the morning at
Sacred Heart Catholic church,
The Rev. Carl Mai officiated.
Mrs. Elizabeth Botchek,
Rogue River, attended the
bride. Best man was E. J,
Brannan of Yakima, Wash.
i oiiowing the ceremony a
wedding breakfast was held
at the Jackson hotel.
The bride moved to the
valley in 1948 and has made
her home here since that time.
Mr. O'Connor is a graduate
of Notre Dame university,
South Bend, Ind., and is a
civil engineer with the Talent
project.

the shoulders and falling to
the hem line in the back. Her
headdress was of orchid net
and white carnations, and she
carried a heart shaped bou
quet of orchid net and white
carnations.
The bridesmaids' ballerina
length frocks were of orchid
taffeta with chiffon draped
over the shoulders. Their
headdresses and bouquets
wtre of lime green net with
white carnations.
Little Joanne Morton, niece
of the bride, was .flower girl,
and wore a dress of lime green
taffeta with orchid net head
dress. She carried a white
basket and rose petals.
Bobby Mace, nephew of the
bride, acted as ring bearer. He
carried the rings on a white
satin pillow.
Audrey Brown was best
man, and ushers were Ronald
Myers, brother of the bride
groom, Jack Magel and Ken
neth Moulton."
Mrs. Alice Boardman played
the traditional organ wedding
music, and Duane Jones sang
The church was decorated
with white candles and bas
kets of white stock and lily-of-the-nile.
The bride's mother wore a
blue lace dress with .white ac
cessories and corsage of pink
rose buds. The bridegroom's
mother wore a dress of orchid
lace over taffeta, white acces
sories and corsage of gar
denias. Following the ceremony a
reception was held in Wesley
Hall at the church. Mrs. C. F.
Shinn and Mrs. R. A. Morton,
sister and sister-in-law of the
bride, cut and served the wed
ding cake. Pouring coffee was
Mrs. R. J. Morton, another sister-in-law
of the bride, while
Mrs. Jose Manrubia, cousin of
the bridegroom, served punch.
Mrs. J. C. Mace, sister of the
bride, had charge of the guest
book and in charge of gifts
were Mrs. Beatrice Frohreich
and Jerry McCollum.
For traveling the bride
chose a mint green suit with
white accessories and white
orchid corsage. Following a
trip to places of interest in
northern California, the young
couple are making their home
at 509 Dakota street, Medford. j
Among out of town guests
for the wedding were Mrs. J.
L. Haskins, Merrill, Ore., Mr.'
and Mrs. LaVerne Haskins
and sons Larry and Bruce,
Bonanza, Ore., Mrs. Leonard
Will, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Has
kins and sons Gary and Gene,
all of Tulelake, Calif., Mrs.
Fred Baugh, Klamath Falls,
Ore., Mrs. Clair Damewood,
Wilderville, Ore., Mrs. Robert
Brittson, Provolt, Ore., Mr.
and Mrs. Joel Barker and
daughters, Dianne, Karen and
Linda, Grants Pass, and Mrs.
C. P. Uhrhane, New York
City.
Both the bride and bride
groom have lived in Medford
all their lives.

Hostess for Club;
Picnics Announced
Mrs. Helen Watson was
hostess at her home on Cath
erine street recently for the
June meeting of Medford
Blue Star Mothers. Follow
ing desert, served by the
hostess, Mrs. James Cech,
president, conducted the busi
ness session.
Mrs. E. P. Kurz, 360 De
Barr street, was welcomed
into the group as a new
member. It was reported the
recent sale of daisies on the
streets of downtown Medford
was successful.
Mrs. Fred Middlebusher re
ported on a recent party
which was given for the mem
bers of the wheel chair pa
tients at the Camp White
domiciliary.
Plans were discussed for
attending the annual district
picnic of the Blue Star Moth
ers which is to be held in
Riddle August 27.
It was voted to recess the
regular meetings for the sum
mer months. A picnic was
planned for July 17, to be
held at the Ashland park. All
members are asked to meet
around noon, taking table
service and a covered dish.
Return
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Lattie
have returned to their home
on North Phoenix road after
a trip north. Mr. Lattie at
tended the summer confer
ence of the 12th district of
Production Credit association.
The couple- returned home
by way of the Oregon coast,
and spent a few days af Port
Orford.

bride of Richard L. Davis in
a ceremony held Sunday after
noon, June 22, at Eastwood
Baptist church in Medford,
The Rev. Richard Jones offi
ciated at the 2 o'clock double-
ring ceremony attended by 70
relatives and friends. The
bride is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Plez R. Chamberlain, 151
Wilson road, Central Point,
and the bridegroomSs the son
of Mrs. Mabel Davis, Gold
Hill.
The church was decorated
with white and tinted blue
chiffon daisies in white bas
kets and white . candelabra
held lighted white tapers.
Bows of white ribbon were at
the pew ends.
Soloist was Gary Smith,
Central Point, former class
mate of the couple. Miss Ver
na Cingcade, Talent, cousin
of the bride, played the organ.
Mr. Chamberlain gave his
daughter in marriage. She
wore a gown designed and
made ,by her mother of white
imported French Chantilly
lace over white taffeta and
tulle, fashioned with a sweet
heart neckline, fitted . bodice
and chapel length bouffant
skirt. The bolero of matching
lace was styled with long
sleeves and mandarin collar.
The bride's necklace ' was a
gift from the bridegroom and
her fingertip illusion veil,
held in place by a tiara of
orange blossoms, was loaned
by Mrs. Robert Icnsee, San
Diego, Calif,, an aunt. ' She
wore white satin pumps and
carried a white orchid encir
cled by white orange blos
soms. The bride served as flower
girl, for Mrs. Icnsee (the for
mer Beth Cingcade) when she
wore the orange blossom tiara
for her wedding 15 years ago.
Miss Judi Davis, Central
Point, was maid of honor,
Mrs. Charles Hewitt, Medford,
cousin of the bride, and Mrs.
George Juveland, Central
Point, were bridesmatrons.
Miss Davis wore a light blue
taffeta frock designed with
low Italian neckline, with bow
in back, and blue lace and
tulle overskirt in ballerina
length. Her headband was of
matching taffeta with a short
white net veil, and she carried
a bouquet of blue chiffon
daisies.
The other attendants wore
frocks styled similar to and of
the same color taffeta as Miss
Davis'. They carried bouquets
of white chiffon daisies and
wore matching taffeta head
bands.
Robert Lance, Gold Hill,
served as best man for the
bridegroom. The candles were
lighted by the two ushers,
Welden Sorensons, and Don
ald Goyett, both Medford.
A reception was given by
the bride's parents in the
Pioneer room of the Jackson
hotel following the ceremony.
The bride's table was centered
with an arrangement of blue
chiffon daisies encircling the
wedding cake and flanked by
white tapers in silver holders.
Mrs. Dale Knox, Oakridge,
aunt of the bridegroom, Cut
and served the wedding cake,.

Flowers for the wedding
and reception were furnished
by Mrs. S. M. Christensen and
Mrs. Sam Jones, both Gold
Hill. Mrs. Steve Saimons and
Mrs. Bob C. Reynolds, both
Medford, were in charge of
all decorations for the wed
ding and reception.
For the event Mrs. Cham
berlain wore a sheath dress of
mint green linen, with white
lace hat and pumps, and white
accessories. The bridegroom's
mother wore an aquamarine
dress of summer cotton, with
white lace hat. Their corsages
were white carnations.
Guests included Mrs. Katie
E. Perkins, Central, maternal
grandmother of the bride, and
her paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Coe, Ash
land. Mrs. O. F. Palmerton,
Rogue River, paternal grand
mother of the bridegroom was
also present for the occasion.
The newlyweds traveled to'
the Oregon coast for their
wedding trip, the bride wear
ing a white sheath dress with
white hat and gloves. The
counle will reside at 17 North
Peach street, Medford. Both
are graduates of Crater Hign
school with the class of 1957.
Tho bride is employed as a
bookkeeper at the First Na
tional Bank in Central oint
and the bridegroom is em
ployed at -Jorgenson's Dairy
in Medford.
Guests from out of town in
cluded Mrs. Bruce Bennett,
sister of the bridegroom ana
her three children, Jenny,
Debbie and Jerry, Ontario.
Of interest is the fact that
the bride and bridegroom had
unknowingly chosen the same
date and the same hour for
their wedding as did the Ben
netts, who were celebrating
their 11th wedding anniver
sary that day. .
Also from out-bf-town were
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Beaber
and children,'. Malcolm and
Sandra, Roseburg, and Mrs.
Dale Knox and son, Jack
Ruegg,- Oakridge.

Nunans Visit
Medford Friends
Mr. and Mrs. Charles J.
Nunan, Ventura, Calif., were
guests in Medford recently.
Mr. Nenan is a descendant
of a pioneer Jacksonville fam
ily, his father, Jerry Nenan
having owned and operated an
early-day store in that town.
The Nunan's built the large
Jacksonville house now own
ed by Mr. and . Mrs. James
Grigsby.
Mr. Nunan's nephew is
Donald Russell, president of
the Southern Pacific Railway
company. - - -
The Nunans made a trip to
Crater Lake National park,
taking with them Mrs. H. P.
Hubbard and Mrs. Lewis Ul
rich, long-time friends. The
Californians were en route to
British Columbia and Alaska.

Newlyweds Make Home In Ashland
. Hornbrook Mr. and Mrs
Willis Jones are at home at
544 "B" street, Ashland, fol
lowing their return from their
wedding trip to San Francis
co and the Bay area. Mrs.
Jones is the former Donna Bi
beau, daughter of Mrs. Jac
queline Bibeau, Ashland, and
the bridegroom is the son of
Mrs. Gladys Jones and the
late Fred Jones of Hornbrook.
The young couple recited
their vows May 29 at Reno,
Nev. Mrs. Jones was gradu
ated from Ashland High
school. She is employed at
Perrine's department store in
Ashland. Her husband was
born and reared in Horn
brook, and is a graduate of
Yreka High school. He at
tended Shasta college in Red
ding for two years, and just
completed his third term at
Southern Oregon college in
Ashland, where he was an all
conference infielder for the
college baseball team. He
also plays shortstop for the
Yreka Indians. He has sum
mer employment ' in Horn
brook, and plans to complete
his education at SOC next
