and the Camp White Bridge
club are sponsoring a charity
master point event at Camp
"White Saturday, June 21, at
7:30 p.m.
Proceeds will go to chari
ties sponsored by the Ameri
can Bridge Club League.
This will be the only charity
game for the year.

To Leave Soon
On Trip Abroad
Mrs. Maude Codding will
leave Saturday, June 14 by
air for San Francisco from
where she will depart by Pan
American Airways for Eu
rope. Mrs. Codding will take
the polar flight.
Mrs. Codding will be met
in Paris by her son, George
Codding, and the two will
spend some time in Brussels
at the fair and in Rome and
Venice. Later they plan to
visit the Riviera, and will
spend some time at San Luc,
an 'Alps resort. Mrs. Codding
will be away about two
months.

mony held May 16 at the Cen
tral Point Church of Christ.
The Rev. Mr. Jean M. Shelley,
officiated at the double ring
ceremony held at eight o'clock
in the evening.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis W. Ma
son, route 1, box 303E, Eagle
Point. The bridegroom is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
L. Friend, route 1, box 152,
Eagle Point.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a white
lace and tulle gown fashioned
with fitted bodice and tulle
skirt with panels of -lace. She
carried white orchids.
Mrs. Richard Wallace, Med
ford, was honor attendant.
Bridesmaids were Miss Judie
Mason, sister of the bride, and
Miss Chloe Willsun, Trail.
Mrs. Wallace wore a lime
green frock while the brides-
best man while Jack Greb,
Ronald Nelson, both Eagle
Point, Eldon Mason, brother
of the bride, and David Davis
seated the guests. Peter Peter
son Jr., Trail, was ring bearer.
White stock in pink satin
baskets decorated the table
which held the wedding cake
at the reception which follow
ed the ceremony. Approxi
m a t e 1 y 90 relatives and
friends attended. Jim McCoy,
Medford, brother-in-law of the
bridegroom, sang accompanied
by Mrs. Shelley.
The couple are making
their home at Shady Cove fol
lowing a wedding trip to Port
land. For her traveling attire
the bride chose a blue sheath
dress with white accessories. .
The bride attended Eagle
Point schools and is employed
by The Shack Cafe in Eagle
Point. Mr. Friend also attend
ed Eagle Point High school
and is employed by James
Vanderlip Logging company.

48th Anniversary
. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred J. Cas
tillo, 113 North Ivy street,
Medford, observed their 48th
wedding anniversary May 31.
The Castillos, who moved to
Medford two years ago, were
married May 31, 1910, in Los
Angeles. ,
Prior to moving to the val
ley they made their home in
Portland where Mr. Castillo
was with the U. S. Customs
office.
Mrs. Castillo is currently
visiting their son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs.
Franklin Castillo, in Seattle,
Wash. While there the grand
son, Norman, observed his
12th birthday. She will re
turn to Medford after visiting
relatives and friends in the
Seattle and Portland areas.

a ceremony held Tuesday,
June 3.

ated at the wedding held at
nine o'clock in the evening in
the home of Mrs. Fuhrer.
More than 50 relatives and
friends attended.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a bal
lerina length blue lace over
taffeta frock with a small
matching hat. She carried a
white orchid encircled by
white carnations.
Miss Sharon Judith Bowen
attended her sister. She wore
a ballerina length blue taffeta
frock and carried shell pink
carnations.
James Edward Coghill was
best man for his brother.
Following the ceremony a
reception was field for mem
bers of the families and close
friends of the couple. Miss Pa
tricia Bowen, sister of the
bride, served the guests.
The couple will make their
home in Florence, Ore. The
bride attended Salt Lake City,
Utah-, schools. The bridegroom
attended Medford schools and
is employed by Safeway. He
was recently notified of his
transfer from the Medford
store to the new store in
Florence.
Out-of-town guests at the
wedding included Mrs. Wal
ter H. Hills, . grandmother of
the bride, and Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Hills, all Salt Lake
City. The Donald Hills re
cently arrived here to make
their home.

Brothers Leaving
For Class Reunion
Sethi Bullis, 15 Florence
avenue, is scheduled to leave
Medford Thursday for Ithaca,
N. Y., where he will attend
the 1908 class reunion at Cor
nell university. Also going
East for the event is Mr.
Bullis' brother, Gardner Bul
lis, Los Altos, Calif. The bro
thers roomed together at the
university during their four
years there.
From Ithaca Mr. Bullis will
travel to New York City,
Washington, D. C, and to
Falls Church, Va., where he
will visit his daughter and
son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John
M. Parsons, and their four
children.
He plans to return to Med
ford in July.

Award Reissued
To Stanley Culy
Stanley Culy, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Dale Culy, 21 Wash
ington street, was recently
resissued the ESTRAL (East
ern Star Training Award for
Religious Leadership), scholar
ship.
Mr. Culy, a student at Wil
lamette university, will be a
senior this fall. He plans to
to return to Medford June 14,
Following his graduation
from Willamette the student
plans to enter the University
of Boston School of Theology.
Student Granted
Assistantship
A Fullbright assistantship
at the University of Toulouse
has been granted to Miss
Joan Perreard, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Per
reard, 432 Fairmount street,
Medford and a 1957 graduate
of Marylhurst college. The
new award is an extension of
a Fulbright scholarship on
which she has been studying
at the University of Poitiers
since last September.
Miss Perreard was gradu
ated magna cum laude from
Marylhurst, with a major in
modern languages. Her prep
aratory work was taken at
St. Mary's high school, Med
ford. At Toulouse she will
continue her study of French
culture, as at Poitiers, and
will also do some teaching.
With a group of friends
Miss Perreard will spend the
summer traveling in Europe,
staying most ot the time in
Holland, Brittany and Spain.
She will visit relatives in
Geneva in late summer, just
before going, to Toulouse.
