Infra-red measuring sys
tems can gauge the slightest
amount of infra-red radia
tions, or heat waves, given &f
by any object, animal, vege
table or mineral HumajQ
usually can feel iliese waves
if they are intense enough.
But only infra-red equipment
can "see" them regardless of
intensity.
During World War II,
American snipers made use of
a telescopic gunsight that
could spot enemy soldiers by
picking out infra-red radia
tions of 200 feet. These infra
red gunsights enabj&d many
a sharpshooter to hitHa target
without actually seeing it.
This was one of the first
military applications of
infra-red devitfe.

Ann and Bob bought a
home arid decided Bob should
be named' on the deed as the
sole owner.
When Bob tied, several
year later, trie house was in
cluded in . his estate increas
ing the inheritance taxes and
the cost i of probating his will.
The home went to Ann ac
cording to the terns of the
will after she had paid the
expenses of probate and the
taxes.
If Bob and Ann had both
been named as owners, the
house would have gone to the
survivor, but not as a part of
the estate. Probate costs and
taxes normally would - have
been reduced.
Won't Prevent Cashing
Items such as stocks, bonds,
and bank deposits can be held
in a like manner. If a bond
is payable to "Ann or Bob or
to .the survivor," the death of
either of these payees will
not prevent the other from
cashing the bond.
Elwood, as an owner of

three other method.
First, he could give 9 deed
to another person (called an
escrowee) with instruction to
deliver it to Curt at iUwood'S
death;
Or, Elwood could execute j
a deed of the land in favor of j
Curt, reserving the right to
enjoy the land the rest of J
his life;
Or, Elwood could execute ,
a trust deedv which . would i
transfer the legal title to the ,
land to a trustee (probably a J
trust company). In this case, ;
the deed ' would instruct the j
trustee to hold the land for .
Elwood benefit for the rest :
of his life and, when he died,
to. transfer it to Curt. Person-'
al property can be transfer

John Meston and Norman
McDonnell, writer and pro

Western drama had become
almost ae formalized as the

Dillon makes mistakes.
Sometimes he arrests the
wrong paople, and lets the vil
leins go. By being human he

Avoiding these and other
cliches makes "Gunsmoke" a
better show and makes Matt
Dillon a wonderful role. He
seems real to me (he seems
real to others, too, including
some who insist their dad
dies knew Dillon in the old
days, despite the fact that
Meston and McConnell in
vented him).
Things like that have made
Matt Dillon a continuously in
teresting character to play. I
hope he lasts fore'ver.
