Charm Course
Announced By
Medford School
Mrs. Frank B. Hopewell
and Mrs. C. H. Buffington will
teach a course in' charm and
modeling to be established by
Robertson School of Business
this month. The school will
become affiliated with a national-wide
chain.
The two women have just
returned from San Francisco,
where they completed a con
centrated teachers' course at
Coronet of California school.
Both have been professional
models, Mrs. Hopewell with
Powers of New York City,
and Mrs. Buffington in Wash
ington, D.C., and Portland.
Mrs. Hopewell attended
Blue Ridge college, and in
addition, attended a drama
school two years, had three
years of voice training, and
studied dancing two years.
She was a model two years.
Mrs. Buffington studied two
years at Stephens college. She
taught charm and modeling
at the Patricia Lee school in
Portland.
The Medford school will
not have as its principal goal
the training of professional
models, according to Mrs. Les
lie Robertson of the Robertson
School of Business. Although
the school will offer modeling
as part of the course, its real
aim will be to train women
to be "model career girls,
model wives and model wom
en," she said.
A number of business edu
cators are adding charm
schools to their curricula, Mrs.
Robertson said, and she has
recently attended conferences
concerned with this phase of
career preparation.
