Spring Housecleaning
Vacuum, brush or shake
draperies and slip covers be
fore putting them in the wash
ing machine. Remove hooks,
mend any rips and, by all
means, review the washing
instructions that came with
the fabrics as well as those
of the manufacturer of your
washing machine and 1 gas
dryer. Some fabrics that are
not soiled can be freshened
in the gas clothes dryer 'with
out washing. Slip covers can
be more easily smoothed and
stretched to fit if they are
removed from the gas dryer
while slightly damp. This
saves ironing, too. ,
Blackboards for the schools j
have been called obsolete and
those with a green back
ground are claimed to be eas
ier on the eyes and for gen-
eral vision. '
