Gas Fumes Blamed
For Three Deaths

from a gas water heater may
have caused the deaths of
three Oregon Technical Insti
tute instructors whose bodies
were found in a bus converted
into a camping vehicle.
Bodies of John C. Roman,
47; George A. Harper Jr., 39,
and Roy Perkey, 47, , were
found Tuesday near Odell
Butte near the Little De
schutes river where they had
gone for a week end of fish
ing.
State police said the men
were in bed in the converted
bus when they died and that
since their fishing gear was
stowed they may have died
Friday night or early Satur
day, before opening of the sea
son. The bodies were found
about five miles west of the
junction of Highway 97 and

much reading, I have decided
