Tomorrow
is too late!
In the next ten crucial years we must
find room for some 25 million
more people and automobiles. Our
population and economy are ex
panding that fast.
This problem affects your family
and neighborhood. For most of
the new families will use existing
facilities and roads! The increase
on wear and tear will be enormous.
In your community, there could
be serious overcrowding, more
traffic . . . poorer schools, parks,
playgrounds, neighborhood facili
ties of all kinds.
The danger of blight growing and
spreading is acute. The threat of
slums raising your taxes and low
ering your property values is very
real. The time to act is now. To
morrow is too late. Keep up your
own home. Work with your neigh
bors in community-improvement
groups.

"L HOUSE OF SAVINGS)
(with apologies to the 3 little pigs)
You can build your house with straw.
(But it may not keep you dry if a rainy
day comes along.)
You can build your house with sticks.
'(But the winds of adversity might blow
it down.)
The best way to build your house is
with a solid foundation of bricks. (And
U. S. Savings Bonds are some of the best
savings bricks you can buy.)
Bonds are solid as a rock guaranteed
by your Government. They're loss-proof,
fire-proof, theft-proof the Treasury will
replace them without charge in case of
mishap. And the principal invested in
Bonds is safe not subject to market
fluctuations.
Best of all, Savings Bonds now pay you
higher interest faster! Every Series E
Bond purchased since February 1, 1957,
pays you a safe and sure ZVi interest
when held to maturity. It pays higher in
terest, too, in the earlier years, and ma
tures in only 8 years and 11 months.
Remember, the way to keep the big bad
wolf from your door is to build your house
of savings with bricks the safe and sure
kind the U. S. Savings Bond kind. Start
buying them regularly today either on
the Payroll Savings Plan where you work
or where you bank. .
