Al Pilarcik's sixth inning
single was the only hit Bob
Turley gave up Saturday as
he Ditched the New York
Yankees to a 2-0 victory over
the Baltimore orioles.
It was Turley's second
straight shutout over the
Orioles, whom the blanked on
four hits six days ago.
Pilarcik's hit was a clean
one, bouncing to the right of
Gil McDousald. Pilarcik stole
second but was stranded as
Gene Woodling lined out to
rieht field for the final out.
Billy Loes gave up the
Yankees' first run in the sec
ond inning when Yogi Berra
walked and came home on
McDougald's double. Andy
Parev homered in the fourth.
Rookie Jim Grant hurled
the Cleveland Indians to their
fourth straight victory with
a four-hit 4-1 triumph over
the Detroit Tigers.
The victory was Grant's
second of the year and De
troit's only run off him came
as a result of Ray- Boone's
triple and Charley Maxwell's
sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Cleveland clinched the out
come with three runs off
Frank Lary in the first in
ning. Mickey Vernon, Russ

Deer Tag Fee
Boost Favored

Portland : API The state
game commission voted at a
meeting here Friday to back
a legislative bill to increase
the deer tag fee from the
present $1 to $2, and to ask
the legislature to pass a law
requiring a license for non
game fish as well ai game
fish.
Increased costs of adminis
tering the state game pro
gram was the reason given
for sponsoring the deer tag
fee hike proposal. The bill, if
passed, would increase com
mission revenue about $200,-
