Magazine Article
Tells Life Story
Of Billy Graham
Billy Graham's life story is
told in a two-part series that
begins in the February issue
of Holiday magazine.
How the famed evangelist
himself was converted at a re
vival meeting at the age of
sixteen and later preached
his first sermon to a group
of prison inmates is revealed
in the article, written by Noel
Houston.
Graham's climb to fame be
gan during his crusade in Los
Angeles in 1949 after the
Hearst papers gave him his
first wide publicity, Houston
says.
By 1954 his fame had
spread abroad and British re
ligious leaders invited him to
come over. Though the press
there greeted the idea with
skepticism, Graham later won
enthusiastic acclaim with his
simple message of salvation
He later preached to mil
lions on the Continent.
