Animal Kingdom
AAtte horses, decided Mr. and Mrs. Cal Thompson, are
good business, so in 1936 they started a ranch in
Naper, Neb., to breed the nimals for circuses and cow
boy shows. White goats, turkeys, cows, pigs, chickens, bats,
monkeys, and other animals followed. Now, except for some
hereditary backfiring, all stock on White Horse Ranch is
white. If the Thompsons sometimes feel snow-blind, they can
always console themselves with the comforting thought that
their business is in the black.
White chickens taste the same, but they blend with ranch motif.
A White billy goats can become black and blue in butting bouts.
White calf isn't too proud to take snack from off-color Mom.
White colts, though, are what will keep White Horse in the pink.
