Sandra Jane, to Neil M. Shaf
fer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Par
ley J. Shaffer, Preston, Idaho.
Miss Kessler is a graduate
of Springfield High school,
Oregon. Mr. Shaffer is a grad
uate of Preston, Idaho, pub
lic schools and is employed
by the Bureau of Reclama
tion here.

A graduate of the Illinois
Valley High school with the
class of 1956, Miss Prewitt
was named queen of the 1957
July Fourth celebration here.
She is employed as a dental
assistant to Dr. Joseph Meyer
at the Illinois Valley Medical
center.
Mr. Gibson, a graduate of
Oakes high school in 1953,
has spent almost four years
in the United States Air
Force, attached to the radar
division. He is the brother of
Mrs. Ole Nassen of Cave
Junction.

at a meeting of Central Point
Royal Neighbors set for Tues
day January 7, at the home
of Mrs. George Brownell,

To Live in
San Diego
Mr. and Mrs. John Lyle
Thatcher are making their
home in San Diego following
their wedding Monday, De
cember 23, at St. Peter Evan
gelical Lutheran church. The
Rev. Kenneth Korby officiat
ed at the double ring cere
mony held at four o'clock in
the afternoon and attended
by relatives and close friends
of the couple.
The bride is the former
Martha Marie Gilman, a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lew G. Gilman, 1100 East
Main street. The bridegroom
is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J.
Fields, Spur, Texas.
For her wedding the bride
wore a white knit suit and
carried a white orchid on a
white Bible.
Attending the couple were
Mr. and Mrs. Don D. Roby,
sister and brother-in-law of
the bride.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held at the
A. R. Dubs home, 1901 Strat
ford way, Medford. Mrs. Don
Roby and Mrs. Joe Frazier
cut and served the wedding
cake and Miss Shirley Chris
tie poured the punch. Miss
Beatrice Frohreich served
coffee. Miss Sharon Hunt and
Miss Marilyn Gilman, sister
of the bride, were at the gift
table and Miss Georgia Weid
man was in charge of the
guest book.
For her daughter's wed
ding Mrs. Gilman wore a
dark red dress with black ac
cessories and corsage of white
blossoms.
Out-of-town guests attend
ing were Mrs. C. A. Hanson,
and son Bill, Grants Pass, and
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lind,
Carmel, Calif. -
The bride attended Med
ford schools and was em
ployed in San Francisco prior
to the wedding. The bride
groom is serving with the
United States Navy and is
currently attending the Navy's
metalsmith school at the U.S.
Naval Training Center, San
Diego.
Two Couples Wed
In November Rites
Butte Falls Two newly
wed couples, both married
in November, are now living
in Butte Falls.
Miss Suzanne Jackson,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E
E. Jackson, Eagle Point, and
Wayne Casey were married
at the Park Wedding Chapel
in Reno, Nev., November 29
The Rev. Gareth Hughes of
ficiated. Mr. Casey isa son
of Mr. and Mrs. Les Casey,
Butte Falls. Attending the
couple were Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Casey, Shary Cove and Lester
Casey, Butte Falls. The Lee
Caseys are an aunt and uncle
of the bridegroom.
The bridegroom is working
for the A. and H. Logging
company.
Miss Patricia Moore, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Moore, Butte Falls, and
James Sheppard were mar
ried November 30 at the
Community church. The Rev.
Howard Simmonds read the
service. The bridegroom is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Sheppard, Butte Falls. Mrs.
Don Burelson, McCloud, Calif,
was bridesmaid and William
Bowen was best man. Mrs.
Burelson is a sister of the
bride. Following the wedding
ceremony a reception was
held at the home of the
bride's parents.
The young people now re
side in Butte Falls and are
finishing their senior year at
Butte Falls High school.
Music Teachers
To Meet Monday
Rogue Valley Music Teach
ers association will meet Mon
day, January 6, at "the home
of Mrs. Rawles Moore, 2520
Lyman avenue, Medford. The
association is newly organ
ized. Miss Helen Robinson of the
music department of South
ern Oregon college will speak
on preparing music students
from private studios for col
lege entrance as music ma
jors. All teachers of music are
invited to attend.

ward M. Anderson, Phoenix,

their daughter, Carole Gean,
to Donald Dee Wallace, son of

Wallace are seniors at Phoe
nix High school. No date has

James Billi is the nephew

Camp, California, and has
been making his home with
them.
The bride-elect is a senior
at Illinois Valley high school.
Her fiance was graduated
from the local high school
with the class of 1957 and
is now a freshman at Oregon
State college, Corvallis.
No wedding plans have
been made.
