America's chimneys with
about 350 million play
things this year almost every
one of them improved or re
designed to make this Christmas
the merriest of all.
According to the Toy Manu
facturers of the U.S.A., games
will require more concentration;
dolls will come in .entire families;
engineering and chemistry sets
will be more realistic; and items
like rocket launchers and space
satellites will introduce small
fry to the world they will live in
as adults.
"Today's youngsters are aware
of practically all the dynamic
fields of modern occupation," the
Toy Guidance Council declares.
"They will settle for nothing
less than true reproductions of
machines and materials used in
these fields."
There are a variety of pow
ered planes that can be con
trolled from the ground, includ
ing the "Turbojet," a plane
modeled after U.S. Air Force
jets. There are also missile
launchers and antiaircraft artil
lery which turn and fire auto
