back when he smashed over

Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, took it

Army tried gamely to get even
as the second period opened,
taking the kYckoff and marching
from its own 39 to the Navy

land fumbled and the ball was

Sandgren has had 26 candi

a fundamental offense with now

Eight Lettermen
Back are eight lettermen in
cluding forward Dave Gambee.
Gambee, who stands 6-7, won the
PCC scoring title last season and
has exceptional quickness for a
big man. He also is a fine de
fensive player.
But the Beavers need more
balance so that the opposition
will not be able to concentrate
its efforts to stop Gambee. The
team has good size and should
Oregon find a combination that
clicks it could be a surprise club.
The tentative starting lineup
has Gambee and six-foot senior
Ken Nanson at forwards; six-foot-eight
junior Gary Goble at
center and juniors Lee Harman
and Jim Anderson at guards.

title at Oregon State this season
but Gill has surprised the oppo
sition a few times before and if
experience counts, the Beavers
might do it this year.

An archery deer hunting sea
son will open in the Rogue and
Applegate river areas on Satur
