Naked Pledge in Laundry
Bag, Shocks College Coeds
Lincoln, Neb. (IP) A University of Nebraska fraternity hag
been stripped of its social privileges because several members
delivered a laundry bag to a sorority house. There was a naked
fraternity pledge inside.
The incident was bared Wednesday but a school secrecy lid
covered the story's details much better, apparently, than the
pledge was covered when squealing coeds opend the bag.
According to one report, the hapless youth was seized by his
future fraternity brothers, tied up, stripped of his clothes, and
put in the laundry bag which was then tied to the door of the
sorority house. The incident happened last week.
The coeds, so the report goes, v reacted with swift, if mis
directed justice. They gave the unfortunate pledge a pummeling,
then sent him packing in a pair of girl's slacks.
The incident became known when "university officials said
they had turned the matter over to the Inter-Fraternity Council.
The IFC's decision bars the fraternity, identified as the local
chapter of Theta Chi, from participating in university social
events.
University officials, who regarded the prank as something
less than amusing, said it was not a part of "Hell Week" hazing
which takes place in a couple of months. But they were reluctant
to bare any more details.
Neither university nor fraternity officials would identify the
students involved. The coeds weren't talking either.

Gets Cool Weather
By UNITED PRESS
Cool clear weather moved into
the Mississippi Valley today fol
lowing torrential rains and tor
nadic winds that indirectly caus
ed the death of three persons in
Central Louisiana.
The three were killed in high
way accidents on rain swept
roads.
Similar storms struck Wednes
day at Moss Point, Miss., and
Milton, Fla., causing damage to
crops and power lines.
Rain this morning swept down
the Ohio Valley toward the Gulf
Coast states, dousing West La
fayette, Ind., with a 'one - inch
downpour and giving Nashville
and Chattanooga, Tenn., a half
inch of rain.
In the Pacific Northwest, Seat
tle reported a half-inch of rain
Wednesday night, although the
rest of the area reported only
light showers.
Miss Leabow admitted that
she agreed to the adoption of
Christine by the blonde actress
and Fallon, but she said she
changed her mind.
"I'm afraid," she said, "that
I did not do very well."

Little Rock Crisis
In Tense Routine
Little Rock, Ark. (IP) The
Little Rock integration crisis
slipped back into a tense rou
tine today, with a reduced sol
dier guard protecting Negro stu
dents at Central High school
and no end of the deadlock in
sight.
The Army flew 500 men of
the 1,000 elite troops of the
101st Airborne Division in Little
Rock back to their home base
at Fort Campbell, Ky., Wednes
day.
The Army's decision to leave
500 paratroopers in Little Rock,
besides 1,500 federalized Nation
al Guardsmen showed the White
House has no intention of re
lenting on the continued inte
gration of Central.
Gov. Orval E. Faubus said he
has no intention of giving Presi
dent Eisenhower additional as
surances that the Negroes will
be protected and integration con
tinued if federal troops are with
drawn.
