Young Frohnmayer, an ex
change student to Germany last
summer, will tell us of his ex
periences. He is a senior in
Medford High school. The
American Field Service pro
gram was his sponsor for his
trip to Germany.
A social hour will follow the
program at which Mrs. Bernice
Kunzman and Mrs. Deaver as
hostesses. All retired and former
teachers are invited to attend.

The next meeting will be held
at the Jackson county court
house auditorium.

Mrs. Elmer L. Adams, Jackson
ville, became the br.ide of Rich
ard Allen Sanford, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Bryon J. Sanford,
Route 2, Box 45 Jacksonville, in
a ceremony held Thursday, Oct
ober 3, in Meeker Memorial
chapel of First Methodist
church. Medford.
Dr. George G. Roseberry of
ficiated at the double ring eight
o'clock evening ceremony at
tend by 100 relatives and fri
ends. Mrs. Leslie Boardman
played the traditional organ
wedding music and Miss Judy
Hall was soloist.
For the ceremony baskets of
1 white chrysanthemums, white
gladiolus and ferns decorated
the chapel.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor
length gown fashioned with
brocaded satin bodice and ivory
satin skirt that terminated in a
I train. Her fingertip length veil
and pearls and she carried a
bouquets of pink carnations,
and pink roses.
Miss Dianne Robbins, maid
of honor, wore a pink brocaded
taffeta frock and carried white
carnations. Miss Linda Hardy,
and Miss Nancy Lou Redhead
were bridesmaids. They wore
mint green brocaded taffeta
frocks and carried bouquets of
pink carnations. Kathy Sanford,
cousin of the bridegroom, was
candlelighter.
Donald Sanford served as best
man for his brother. Gary West
and Gary Walters seated the
guests.
Following the ceremony a re
ception was held in Wesley hall
at the church. Mrs. B. J. Hunter,
sister of the bride, cut and
served the wedding cake. Mrs.
Vance Adams, sister-in-law of
the bride, poured the coffee,
and Mrs. Donald Sanford, sister-in-law
of the bridegroom,
poured the punch. Miss Carleen
Wall was in charge of guest
book and Mrs. Gary Walters and
Mrs. Harold Jordon were at the
gift table.
For her daughter's wedding
Mrs. Adams chose a blue and
white dress with navy blue jack
et. Mrs. Sanford wore a navy
blue dress. They both had pink
carnation corsages.
The newlyweds left on a wed
ding trip to California. For her
traveling attire the birde wore
a cherry red knit suit with white
angora accents and white ac
cessories. The bride attended Jackson
ville schools and is employed
as a secretary at First Methodist
church, Medford. The bride
groom a tt e n d e d Jacksonville
schools and is a fireman apprent
ice in the United States Navy.
He will be stationed at the U.S.
Naval Training Center, Great
Lakes. 111., where he will attend
the U. S. Navy Boilerman
school.
Out-of-town guests attending
the wedding included Mrs. Min
nie Hamilton, aunt of the bride,
H. F. Clark, grandfather of the
bride, both Escalow, Calif., and
Mr. and Mrs. Vance Adams and
daughter, Jean, of Klamath
Falls.
Chapter To Hold
Dogpatch Party
Alpha Rho chapter' of Beta
Sigma Phi plans a "Dogpatch"
party October 26. It will be held
at the home of Mrs. Harry Bark
er, 1524 Lenora drive. Members,
their husbands and guests are in
vited. Dr. Arthur Kreisman of South
ern Oregon college was guest
speaker for the chapter's meet
ing October 10. He told of the
meaning of "Prose" and the way
it is used differently by various
authors and layman.
The chapter nominated three
members. Mrs. David Legg, Mrs.
William Werner and Mrs. Bob
Norris, for th'eir Valentine girl
and a secret ballot was talken.
The identity of the chosen girl
will be revealed the night of the
annual Valentine dance.
The group is providing cloth
ing to a family here in the valley
who has had their home and all
belongings destroyed by fire.
October 24 is the date of the
next meeting. It will be held at
the home of Mrs. Paul Antony,
1537 Grand avenue.

Miss Miller is a daughter of
Mrs. Eula Miller. 45 Myers
court and V. A. Miller, Ponca
City, Okla. Mr. Ryan's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. John P. Ryan,
Cushing, Okla.
The wedding will be held this
winter in Houston, Tex.
Miss Miller is a graduate of
Stillwater High school and at
tended Oklahoma A. and M.
college. She is employed by
Robinson, Potter and Ripley In
surance agency here.
Mr. Ryan received his bache
lor of science degree in account
ing from Okalohma A. and M.
college in 1956 and is employed
by Philips Oil company in
Houston.
Training Progra

An "in action1'' leadership
training program has been
planned for a meeting of Jack
son County Council of Parent
Teacher association Wednesday,
October 16. according to Mrs.
Owen Kunkel, president. The
council will meet in the Med
ford YMCA social hall from
9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a short
recess at 11 a.m. Child care will
be available at 50 cents per
family.
The new plan for making the
council more effective in its
service to local PTA units in
cludes discussion groups for the
various chairmanships most ac
tive at that given time, skits to
demonstrate helpful means of
communicating information, ex
hibits displaying ideas that may
prove helpful in program plan
ning, and an exchange of "this
worked in our unit" ideas in
volving the suggestion box
technique.

adopted by the 1957 legislature,
and its effect on the various
school districts within Jackson
county.

Program Planned
Mrs. C. W. Mitchell and Mrs.
George B. Canode will give a
program for Wednesday Study
club Wednesday, October 16, at
2 p.m. in the Girl's Community
! club.
Mrs. Mitchell will review,
"The Girl in the Blue Pinafore"
and Mrs. Canode will give a bio
graphy of J. Edgar Hoover.
