1 Paulsen-Farrar Rites Held
In Ashland Episcopal Church
Grants Pass Miss Judith
Alene Farrar became the bride
of Wayne Richard Paulsen in
a ceremony held Sunday, Sep
tember 8 at 2:30 o'clock in the
afternoon at Trinity Episcopal
church in Ashland. The Rev,
John Thompson officiated at the
double-rinjg ceremony and about
100 guests were present
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Farrar,
Grants Pass, and the bridegroom
is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Paulsen, Central Point, Ore. He
grew up and attended grammar
school in Hornbrook, and has
been making his home there this
summer with Mr. and Mrs.
Loren Cummins.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a bal
lerina gown of white lace over
taffeta and net with empire
bodice, scoop neckline and three
quarter sleeves. Her fingter-tip
length veil was held by a crown
of pearls and she carried a fan-
shaped bouquet of stephanotis
centered with an orchid. She
wore a pearl necklace belonging
to her grandmother, Mrs. B.
A. Harrington.
Maid of honor for the bride
was Miss Kara Lee Irwin. Rogue
River. She wore an orchid taf
feta frock with velvet cummer
bund and bow headpiece in a
darker shade. Miss Linda Cox,
Dupont, Wash., a cousin of the
bridegroom, and Miss Marie
Walters served as bridesmaids.
Their gowns were of rose taf
feta with pink cummerbund,
and pink taffeta with rose cum
merbund, with matching velvet
bow headpieces. All three car
ried bouquets of matching
gladioli.
Little Miss Jackie Paulsen,
sister of the bridegroom, wear
ing orchid taffeta, was flower
girl, and his young brother,
Carl Paulsen Jr., was ring bear
er. Candlelighters were the
Misses Judy Byers and Linda
Whitaker, both Los Angeles.
They were dressed in orchid
and pink.
Harvey Smith, Ashland, was
best man. Seating the guests
were L,oren Cummins, Horn
brook, and Denny Cox, cousin
of the bridegroom, from Dupont.
White gladioli decorated the
church for the ceremony.
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Farrar chose a pink and
blue sheath dress with black
accessories, while the bride
groom's mother was in blue with
black accessories.
Their corsages were stephan
otis. ,
At the reception which fol
lowed the exchange of vows, the
parish house was decorated with
orchid and pink asters. Serving
the cake were Mrs. G. G. Whita
ker, Los Angeles,, great-aunt of
the bride, and Mrs. Ralph Bosse,
while Miss Judy Buckle poured
punch. Mrs. Steve Byers, Los
Angeles, presided at the gift
table.
After a tw weeks honeymoon
in southern California, the new
lyweds will be at home at 160
Laurel street in Ashland when
both will continue their studies
at Southern Oregon college. The
bride graduated from Rogue
River High school where she
was valedictorian of her class
and winner of the Elks scholar
ship. Mr. Paulsen graduated
from Yreka High school where
he was an outstanding athlete,
and also played baseball with
the Navy where he served for
four years. For one year follow
ing his release from the Navy,
he was with a farm club of the
Baltimore Orioles.
Out-of-state guests at the wed
ding were Mrs. A. H. Theilen,
grandmother of the bridegroom,
Davenport, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs.
Dale Cox, aunt and uncle of the
bridegroom, and their two chil
dren Dupont; Mrs. G. G. Whita
ker; great-aunt of the bride, Los
Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. L. Bess-
ler, godparents of the bride, Los
Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Byers and family, Los Angeles,
and Mr. and Mrs. William Paul
sen, San Leandro, Calif., broth
er and sister-in-law of the bride
groom, and approximately 20
friends of the bridegroom from
Hornbrook.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Davis, who have lived in Medford
25 years, are shown cutting their silver anniversary cake. Mr.
and Mrs. Davis, who reside on Kenwood avenue, were married
in Medford. They were honored at a reception September 8.
Anniversary Celebrated.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Davis,
12 Kenwood avenue, .were hon
ored at a reception September 8
which observed their silver
wedding anniversary. Mr. and
Mrs. Davis have lived in Med
ford 25 years. The reception was
held at their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary James Pree,
son-in-law and daughter of the
couple, helped to plan the event
and presented the couple with
an anniversary cake. Mrs. Pree
cut and served the cake; Mrs.
Robert Guthrie and Mrs. Mason
Adair poured tea and coffee.
About 30 friends called, and the
couple was presented gifts for
their home. ' ,
White and salmon colored
gladioli decorated the rooms.
Mr. and Mrs. Davis were mar
ried September 3, 1932, here in
Medford.' The anniversary cele
bration was held later since the
couple was in Portland Septem
ber 3 on a vacation. They have
two children, Mrs. Pree and a
son, Airman First Class Edmond
Davis, who with his wife is now
living overseas. There are two
grandsons. Mr. Davis, has been
employed by Pierce Freight lines
for 20 years. '
