Dog Found The 14-year-old
bull terrier belonging to the
Harry Hamilton family of Fern
valley has been found, Mrs.
Hamilton reported this morning.
The pet was discovered in a barn
on Coal Mine rd. "Judy", the
bull terrier, evidently had jump
ed out of the car window when
her mistress was In the Monarch
Feed store here two weeks ago.
Mrs. Hamilton had drove some
distance before she discovered
the family pet was missing.
When she returned the dog had
left. The barn in which she was
found is in almost a straight line
toward the Hamilton home at
the east end of Fern valley, Mrs.
Hamilton said.

former Ann Shadle, daughter of
Major and Mrs. F. W. Shadle,
formerly Of Medford and now
of Olympia. The infant weighed
7V2 pounds, and is the first born
to . the Byers. She is the first
great granddaughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh Hulbert, 135 Port
land ave., Medford. Mr. Byers,
serving with the United States
Navy, is now attending school
in Seattle and will be given ac
tive duty this fall.

Netherlands Plant
Leo Weisficld, president of
Weisfield's, Inc., Jewelers, re
cently announced creation of a
Dutch corporation which has
purchased a diamond cutting
and polishing works in the
Netherlands. It was purchased
to supply Weisfield's stores di
rect with finished cut and pol
ished diamonds.
Weisfield said this purchase is
a result of two years' prepara
tion in forming a corporation
under Dutch laws.
The transaction was finally
consumated during a recent trip
to the Netherlands by Richard
S. Weisfield, vice-president ol
the firm, he said. Weisfield's are
now receiving regular ship
ments of cut and polished dia
monds from their own plant in
Amsterdam.
Weisfield's, Inc., have 28
stores, including one in Med
ford, throughout Washington,
Oregon, California and Idaho.

Chivalry Still Here
Cafe Waitress Learns
A waitress at the Richland
Cafe on Pacific highway found
that chivalry is not dead when
two patrons proceeded to throw
a teenager out who had come
behind the counter.
Trouble started, according to
police reports, when a group of
six teenagers came into the cafe
to order food. One of the group
got, up and began to walk up
and down shouting in- profane
language. ' .
When asked by a waitress to
quiet down or the police would
be called, he shouted and start
ed behind the counter. At this
point the two patrons got up,
one held the door open and the
other grabbed the juvenile by
the collar and belt and shoved
him out of the door. The rest of
the group left peaceably.
