Worth, Tex., is the oldest prac
ticing physician in the United
States. Dr. Cummins, who is 99
years old, is at his office from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. six days a week.
Pickets Close Down
Evans Products Plant
Coos Bay HP) The Evans
Products company plant, em
ploying about 500 persons in its
Coos Bay operations, was closed
down at noon Friday when pick
ets were posted by members of
Local 2621, Plywood, Veneer
and Box Workers union.
Dortha Voeller, president of
the local, said the union's con
tract with Evans had been open
since April and that the com
pany had refused to negotiate on
an accumulation of grievances.
No strike vote had been taken,
however, and a number of em
ployes expressed ignorance of
what the dispute was about.
Evans officials szii they had
not been contacted by the union
and did not know the purpose
of th2 strike.
