borrows the Argyle patterns of
men s socks and adapts them to

Up until now, most mothers
have considered a white cloth
raincoat for the children just
about as practical as a mink
baby bib. But today, manufac
turers are trying to put the
washable label on virtually all
items in infants' and children's
ready - to - wear. This includes
rain-wear.
Qne firm is using a new wash
able poplin in white rain capes
and hooded toggle coats for
youngsters of toddler through
sub-teen sizes. The poplin is
treated with a special water re-
pellant finish on the outer sur
face and a rubberized backing
on the under side.
Another white raincoat is of
specially-treated chambray. Both
the poplin and chambray can be

gent suds, preferably by hand.

rhinestones, pearls and colored
