around Buffalo for a long time
before he came up with the so
lution to a "classical" problem
that at the same time insured
traffic safety.
Joseph, an 18-year-old junior
who plays bass fiddle in his high
school band, and his father,
Samuel Iraci, were stumped
every time the youth had to
transport the instrument in an
automobile.
Most fiddle players lift the
fiddle by its neck and slide it
through the car loor across the
front and back seats, Joseph
said.
"That works," he admitted,
"but it also blocks the driver's
view from the rear and right
windows."
The Iracis finally hit upon the
idea of cutting a 10-inch square
hole in the back seat of their
auto. They lined the back wall
of the trunk with foam rubber
to protect the instrument.
Now, when Joseph starts out
oi. a night of music, he doesn't
have to worry about a bulky
bass fiddle hampering his driv
ing. It rests snugly in the trunk
out of sight.
AmeriAn tourists visiting in
Britain are increasing at the rate

British railways.
