Read in Evening Ceremony
Miss Theodora Joyce Robert
son became the bride of David
Gene Wisely in a ceremony held
Saturday, June 29, at eight
o'clock in the evening at the
Ashland Church of the Naza
rene. The Rev. R. W. Hohn of
ficiated at the double ring cere
mony attended by 120 relatives
and friends.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Rangwald Robert
son. Little Valley, Calif. The
bridegroom is a son of Mr. and
Mrs. Floyd Wisely, 724 West
Jackson street, Medford.
Pink and white gladiolus dec
orated the church ir.r the cere
mony. Mrs. C. M. Litwiller
played the traditional organ
wedding music and M. Lee
Mansveld was soloist.
Given in marriage by her fa
ther, the bride wore a gown of
white lace and tulle over satin
fashioned with fitted bodice and
bouffant skirt. Her fingertip
length veil was held by a flow
ered lace crown and she car
ried a bouquet of pink rosebuds
encircling a white orchid:
Mrs. Gordon Gwinn-was hon
or attendant for her sister. Miss
Janet Speirs and Miss Jean
Kerns were bridesmaids. They
wore pink lace frocks over pink
satin and carried cascade bou
quets of pink gladiolus.
Steven Wisely, brother of the
bridegroom, served as best man
while William Newland and
Louis Bittle, both of Medford,
seated the guests.
Following the ceremony a re
ception was held at the church.
Mrs. Robert Lilly, Mrs. Charles
McCumiskey, both of Riddle,
and Mrs. Gordon Gwinn, Ash
lend, all sisters of the bride, as
sisted with the serving. Mrs.
Richard Long played the piano
during the reception.
For her daughter's wedding
Mrs. Robertson wore a white
and blue dress with white acces
sories. Mrs. Wisely chose a pink
dress with white accessories
They both wore pink rose cor
sages.
The newlywed couple are
making their home at 917 Grant
street, Medford, following a
wedding trip to Oregon and Cal
ifornia coasts.
The bride is a graduate of
Ashland High school and is em
ployed as a cashier for Califor
nia Oregon Power company. She
has been making her home at
767 Oak street, Ashland. The
bridegroom attended Medford
High school, Southern Oregon
college, and Oreon State college.
He is a lumber grader for Tim
ber Products company.
TUESDAY MEETING
The Oak Grove Neighborhood
club will be entertained at the
summer home of Mrs. E. G.
Trowbridge on Rogue river
Tuesday, July 16. Those attend
ing are to meet at the Trow
bridge home, 3237 Jacksonville
highway, at 10 a.m. Those at
tending should take their own
service and those bringing food
will be contacted by the presi
dent Mrs. Alex Connell.
Methodist
Women Return
From School
Two Rogue Valley Methodist
women have returned from Salt
Lake City where they attended
the School of Missions and Chris
tian Service of the Woman's So
ciety of Christian Service. Mrs.
Oliver P. Taylor, Medford, and
Mrs. A. S. Feller, Camp White,
were sent as delegates from the
Oregon Conference to receive
the week of special training.
Theme of the school was "Till
Christ Shall Dwell in Every
Heart" and was held on the
campus of Westminster college.
There were about 100 delegates
from the ten western states,
Hawaii and Alaska. The purpose
of the school was to give train
ing to selected officers of the
Woman's Society and Wesleyan
Service Guild, in order that
there may be more effective
leadership in Conference schools.
Mrs. A. S. Feller is the chair
man of the Oregon school which
will be held at Camp Magruder,
near Rockaway, July 21 through
&o. iurs. layior will instruct a
workshop on draraa and audio
visuals in the church. Mrs.
Feller will also teach the for
eign mission course on Japan
later in the year in Medford. She
studied under Dr. Hamako Hi
rose, principal of Hiroshima
Girls' School in Japan. Mrs. Tay
lor studied the book of Mark
under the Rev. Roy Nichols of
Downs Memorial Methodist
church, Oakland, Calif. Mrs.
Feller, secretary of missionary
education and service for the
Oregon Conference, and Mrs.
Taylor, secretary of promotion
for the conference, each receiv
ed specialized training in her
line of work and will conduct
a clinic for local officers at
Camp Magruder.

Mrs. Nina Miller, 1840 Bar
nett road, Medford, became the
bride of Dale Eldred, 417 Union
street, Medford, in a ceremony
held Friday, July 5, in San Fran
cisco at the home of the Rev.
Lovey Murray. For her wedding
the bride wore a blue frock with
gardenia and pink rose corsage.
The newlywed couple will make
their home at 1840 Barnelt road.
Mr. Eldred is the operator of
the Tri-City Window Cleaning
service.

Holds Officer
Installation
Mrs. Floyd Robertson was in
stalled president of the So
journer club when it met Thurs
day at Pythian hall. Mrs. Gerald
Von Ting was installing officer.
&ne presented the new presi
dent with a corsage and also
presented one to the retiring
president, Mrs. Gene Chamber
lain.
Other officers Installed were
Mrs. Jim Winslow, first vice-
president; Mrs. O. J. Cranshaw
second vice-president; Mrs. Mar
vin Yost, secretary; and Mrs. Eu
gene Ingram, treasurer.
Appointed officers were Mrs.
Wesley Forler, hospitality; Mrs.
J. W. oage, publicity; and Mrs.
Ruth Tobin, remembrance. Mrs.
Chamberlain became chairman
of the board and Mrs. Von Ting
became member-at-large.

Mrs. Evelyn Hendricks and Mrs.
Lora Stewart. Mrs. Wesley For
ler, Mrs. R. T. Jones, Mrs. Ira
Mattern and Mrs. Beryl Lyon
were welcomed as new members.
Hostesses for the afternoon
were Mrs. John Mansfield, Mrs.
W. O. Hughes and Mrs. Thomas
Reld. The table was decorated
with a center piece of sea shells
and other articles from the
beach.
After the business meeting
the members played cards.
Sojourners is a club devoted
to the interests of newcomers
to the city and any woman who
has lived here two years or less
is eligible. Next meeting will be
July 25 at the Pythian hall.

satin frock in ballerina length
fashioned with fitted bodice and
long sleeves. She carried stepha
notis encircling a white orchid.
Mrs. Peter Young was matron
of honor for her sister. Miss
Judy Lucas, Miss Sue Dempster,
and Miss Carolyn Breazeale, sis
ter of the bridegroom, were
bridesmaids. They wore baller
ina length white lace frocks over
shades of lilac taffeta with
matching taffeta cummerbunds
and back bow. They carried lilac
colored gladiolus. Mr. Marrs
gave the bride in marriage.
Lawralee Marrs, sister of the
bride was flower girl, and Miss
Barbara Iverson and Miss Donna
Brobeck were candlelighters.
Delmar Brood served as best
man and Peter Young, Duane
Brood and Marvin Spradling
seated the guests.
Arthur Friesen was soloist and
Mrs. Richard Smith played the
traditional organ wedding mu
sic. Following the ceremony a re
ception was held at the Medford
hotel. Mrs. Clifford Iverson cut
and served the wedding cake.
Mrs. Tom Skelly, sister of the
bride, poured the punch, and
Mrs. Kenneth Harper, sister-in-law
of tht bride, poured the cof
fee. Mrs. Robert Myers was in
charge of the guest book.
For her daughter's wedding
Mrs. Marrs chose a grey, sheath
dress with pink accessories. Her
corsage was an orchid. Mrs.
Breazeale wore a pink linen suit
with white accessories. She wore
a pink carnation and stephanotis
corsage.
The newlywed couple are
making their home at 25 South
Orange street, apartment 2, Med
ford, after a wedding trip to the
California coast. For her travel
ing attire the bride wore a white
linen sheath dress with pink ac
cessories. The bride is a graduate of
Medford High school and is em
ployed in the tabulation depart
ment of the California Oregon
Power company. The bridegroom
also attended Medford schools
and is a grader for Fir Ply corporation.
