Surgical Residency
Dr. G. A. Dierdorff. local
osteopathic physician and sur
geon, announced today his plans
to accept a residency in surgery
at the Des Moines General hos
pital, Des Moines, Iowa, begin
ning July 15.
The period of residency is in
definite at present, he said, but
it will extend for at least one
year. Dr. Dierdorff . is senior
partner associated with Dr. Mil
ton R. Snow, who will continue

July 28, 1943, in Medford. She
is survived by a sister, Mrs.

and a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Mer
ritt, Ashland.

Rifles.
Mr. Grover is survived by his

land, Isabelle A. Grover, Ash

the Air Force in Portland; five

lows in moderate trading.
The decline was in extension
of last week's setback, the
sharpest for any week since
early in January- Lukens Steei
was a wide mover all day. It
ranged between a new high of
1 2 1 5 2 and a low of 115'3. Near
the close it was up almost three
points. Other steels were earier.
Oils were weak. Gulf lost
around four and Amerada
around three to pace this group
lower. DuPont fell almost two
and Allied more than one in the
chemicals.

The destroyers and the auxil
iary tanker had entered the
canal from the Mediterranean at
Port Said Sunday. They emerged
at Suez in the early morning
darkness and steamed slowly

Red flotilla that sailed into the
Mediterranean last week through
the Dardanelles. The others were
a cruiser and two motor torpedo
boats.
Two Juvenile Boys
Arrested by Deputies
Two Ashland boys, nine and
10 years old. were turned over
to their parents by sheriff's of
ficers Wednesday after the
youngsters had been arrested in
connection with the theft of
bottles of soft drink from the
Valley View Race track in Ash
land. Sheriff's officers are still in
vestigating the case.
