Loomis has been serving as
chief at Pensacola since Aug-
; ust, 1956. He was born in Fargo,
N. D., on Oct. 1. 1906. He at
tended Long Beach, Calif., High
school.
He received his appointment
to the Naval academy in 1925.
As a midshipman he was a mem
ber of the rifle and fencing
teams. He was, graduated and
commissioned an ensign on June I
