country's top designers.
Vhn you try to get men to
wear more interesting clothes
they're afraid of appearing fem
inine. Liberace's frilly shirts
with gobs of lace kill men's
wear. He looks like a ruffled
layer cake."
Bovee unveiled his first col
lection of clothes for men when
he popped out here to arrange
new wardrobes for Jayne. Her
studio, he explained jn an aside,
told him he'd better raise her
neckline.
"Jayne doesn't like this she
says what will all her nice
newspaper photographer friends
say? She doesn't want to let
them down. But the studio says
the neckline goes up," said the
energetic 5nvee.
"But. anyway, back to the
men's clothes
"I'd like to see some of those
sloppy slobs like Marlon Brando
get into more attractive clothes.
Most of these new clothes I de
signed for myself (he gets an
award in Chicago June 20 as
one of the country's best-dressed
executives'. I had so many re
quests for copies that I'm manu
facturing my clothes for nation
al distribution."
Bovec's ideas revolutionary
for men's wear include evening
shirts decorated with crocheted
edges (but pot frilly) and Sun
day shirts of fancy white-on-white
fabric.
Fur Ha's Considered
He also hopes men will buy
his bright red velvet dinner
jackets, wool jersey suits itined
to prevent itching), black satin
tuxedoes with matching shoes,
broadcloth coats with fur col
lars, tics copied after a bull
fighter's and even fur hats.
"Men wear fur hats in Europe
why not here?" demanded
Bovcc.
So far the designer has noted
"some resistance'' from stores
that retail his creations. But he
has a happy customer in acTnr
Fernando Lamas. Even Jayne's
boy friend, muscle king Mickey
Hargitay. goes for Elgee's eve
ning tics that consist of a satin

it- a bow.
I'm also starting coordinated
wardrobes for men and women,"
the dcsi-r.cr added.

the best financial break? Most
people say it is in California.
Especially in Beverly Hills.
However. a Detroit lawyer
claims divorcees get the best fi

he, "In Michigan, no matter how
long a woman has been married
whether it is for six months or
six years, she can and usually
does obtain 50 per cent of any
savings, properties and assets."

Helpful Hint
When you eat an apple do you
peel it? If so. you may be mak
ing a mistake. Especially if your
hair is thinning. Apple peel con
tains many of the important hair
minerals. The same is true of the
peels of cucumbers, carrots and
radishes. That's what experts on
the subject of hair growing main
tain. I have always eaten apples
with the peel on. Perhaps that is
one of the reasons I have to get
a haircut every week.

Among the Married
Now take your baby's birth
day. On that day you should
have moving pictures taken of
the infant. Also have a recording
made of the child's voice. Save
a newspaper of each birthday
date so in later years your des
cendant can get an idea of what
was happening as his life went
on. I have no sourvenirs of my
infancy. Not even a pair of baby
shoes. Nor a photograph. I don't
even know whether or not I was
a beautiful baby.
