To Sell Bonds at

Teamsters will have to sell a mil
lion dollars worth of bonds at a
10 per cent loss due to the ma
nipulations of funds by union
president Dave Beck.

enough to meet current operat

Lee told the delegates that

removed immediately and an in
terim appointee chosen for the
job."
Lee also predicted the Team
sters' Executive Board might
force Beck out at its July 1 meet
ing in Los Angeles.
The delegates of the 44 locals,
representing the largest single
council of the union with 134,000
members, voted unanimously for
Beck's resignation and endorsed
Vice President John T. Sandy
O'Brien, 60, of Chicago, for the
post. Lee was endorsed for the
vice president post.
In an acceptance speech.
O'Brien told the council he wants
the job "only if I can handle the
work according to my own way
of thinking."
