Fashion says bare your back to the sun and resort cottons go
along with fashion. Claire McCardeil anticipates summer beas.a
excitements and designs the halter bareback with a button-down
shirtwaist front and a wide bell. She uses the same top for a window-pane

Asidet
Bartenders are agreed that
men drinkers are sloppier
men. The female barflies spill
more drinks. Besides they leave
lipstick on the glasses and when
they make up, they cover the
bar with face powder . . . Who
originated the term "Blue Mon

day? I never am. I like Mon
day. I usually feel blue on Sun
day. Bronco Billy
The first great Western film
or "horse opera" star was
"Bronco Billy" Anderson. He
was originally a vaudeville ac
tor and his real name was Max
Aronson. Although he appeared
in about 400 Western films,
"Bronco Billy" feared horses
and has a strong dislike for
them. He never rode a horse
until he became a film actor.
He never rode one after he gave
up acting.
Breakfast
Ice cream for breakfast is be
ing suggested for the summer
season. Only person I ever knew
to have that dish regularly for
hig morning meal was "Bo
jangles" Robinson, the dancer.
The favorite breakfast of "Bo
jangles" was three dishes of
vanilla ice cream and a dozen
hot biscuits.
Housework
As to the time It should take
a woman to do her daily house
work, a domestic efficiency ex
pert says it should be figured
on basis of half an hour for each
room, plus one hour for each
small child. Thus, if a woman
has a six-room house and two
small children, her housework
should be done in five hours. If
she has an eight room house and
three small children, her house
work should be completed in
seven hours.

We are afraid all this has gone

her expensive clothes, which she

She says she must be seen look

won't look at any of the neigh

community.
Her dating this man has
caused a lot of talk. I'm afraid of
her getting into trouble or run
