Lamb said she believed this to
be right and added "voluntary

tic manifestation, of the free
world. In those parts of the
world where freedom is extinct,
voluntary organizations cannot

Dr. Loretta Miller as district

national convention of Altrusa
to be held at New Orleans in

Has Final Session;

Beta Upsilon chapter of Beta
Sigma Phi sorority held the fi
nal meeting of the season re
cently at the home of Mrs. Rich
ard Knoll. The program book
for the coming year, ''Paths to
Loveliness" was distributed.
Mrs. Arthur Brooks was ap
pointed to represent Beta Upsi
lon chapter at the northwest
regional meeting to be held in
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in
June.
The final program was given
by Mrs. Jack McCarey from the
program book, "Beauty."
Refreshments were served by
the hostess and Mrs. Ray Bost
wick, Mrs. Larry Horton, Mrs.
McCarey and Mrs. Marsha
Rambsy.

Two Lodges Plan
Dinner Wednesday
Members of the Loyal Order
of Moose and Worsen of the
Moose have planned a joint
meeting for Wednesday, May 29.
It will be a potluck dinner at
6:30 pjn. at the lodge hall, with
business session and a program
to follow. The regular meeting
of Women of the Moose was
held May 22 at Moose hall.
Mrs. Marion O'Brien, spon
sored by Mrs. E. L. Cooper, was
elected to membership.
Candidates for offices for the
ensuing year were nominated
and the election will be held at
the next special meeting to be
held on Wednesday, June 12.

tainment was furnished by Vic
tor Damon, popular singer.

Pen-Ink Drawings
Added to Display
In Medford Store
Four pen and ink drawings,
Grants Pass, are being exhibit
ed now at Purucker Piano house.
Clifford Piatz, Medford artist
who maintains a continuing dis
play at the piano house and
who invites other artists to ex
hibit their work as guests, states
that Mr. Eyerly's work is char
acterized by its painstaking de
tail. About 12 paintings are now
on display, and the public is in
vited to view the group. Mr.
Platz invites artists from all
parts of Oregon to show their
work at the store.
Mrs. Burton Jensen
Honored at Shower
Eagle Point Mrs. Boyd
Bruner and Mrs. Jesse McFad
den were hostesses for a layette
shower given at the home of
the latter May 16 in honor of
Mrs. Burton Jensen.
Games were played and the
hostesses served refreshments,
assisted by Deana Hukill and
Ada Ruth Kimmel. The 41
guests presented Mrs. Jensen
many gifts.
