The visit of Manager Eugene
K. Ricker to the Wood, Wis., VA
center, where he will confer
with Manager Delta C. Fermin,
is a step in the direction of fur
thering the progress of domicili
ary practice, it is learned.
There will be an exchange of
ideas and an evaluation of domi
ciliary programs at this meeting,
it is stated. Both stations are
regarded in the model class, due
to the special conditions under
which they operate. Camp
White, however, is strictly a
domiciliary, while the Wood
center follows the pattern of the
combination hospital and home.
Mrs. Ila Evans, librarian at
the domiciliary during the past
year, has resigned from the VA,
and is going to join her husband
in Igloo, S.D.
Mrs. Evans was instrumental
in organizing the readers and
writers club at Camp White,
which encourages discussion of
books that are read as well as
usages in the art of writing for
publication.
She will be succeeded by Enid
Holmes, who comes her from
San Fernando VA hospital.
The Southern Oregon Society
of Artists, which meets here on
the last Wednesday of each
month, had as their guest speak
er Dr. Arthur K r e isman, of
Southern Oregon college, who
reviewed the significance of art
in the interpretation of thoughts
and feelings of an age.
In meeting the challange that
much in the domain of abstract
art is abnormal, Dr. Kreisman
discounted such inferences in the
light of the artist's motive in
departing from the obvious. If
the work is confusing, it is be
cause the times are confusing,
he said.

turned to Southern Oregon and
is now living in Medford. He
has renewed his membership in
the Camp White Bridge club,
which he founded while he was
here. Mr. and Mrs. Hatton are
busy at the present time in get
ting settled in their new home,
a new experience for them.
Bill Hum, who died Thurs
day night, carried on the tradi
tion of his old football team-mate
Tick Malarkey in writing this
column for a year or more. He
was tackle and Tick was fast
halfback on one of the truly
great teams at the University- of
Oregon.

of experience in display advertis
ing, did the work in a week, and
they are the result of his skill
in this particular line.
Thelma Williams was stage
manager of the show, assisted by
Ruth Freed and other auxiliary
members.
