Notice oi School Election Upon the Question of Increasing Tax
Levy Over Amount Limited by Section 11, Article XI, Oregon
State Constitution.
Notice is hereby given that an election will be held in School
District 6C of Jackson County, State of Oregon, from 2 P.M. to
8 P.M. on May 8, 1957, in the Central Point Junior High School
Gymnasium, the Gold Hill School Gymnasium, and the Sams
Valley School Building, in said school district, for the purpose
of submitting to the legal school voters of said school district, the
question of increasing the tax levy for the fiscal year 1957-1958,
over the amount limited by Section 11, Article XI, of the Con
stitution of Oregon.
The reasons for increasing the levy are:
The amount now within the 6 limitation is inadequate to
operate the school; there is an increase in cost of supplies; opera
tional costs are higher; additional teachers are needed.
The amount of the tax in excess of the 6 limitation proposed
to be levied for the fiscal school year is $297,450.38.
Dated this 8th day of April, 1957.
