Here is an animal only three-and-one-half feet long and
only 20 pounds in weight, who fights successfully with forest
creatures several times his size. He can leap from tree to tree
and run fast.
His scientific name is MUSTELA PENNANTI or MARTES
PENNANTI, but can you guess his everyday name? He lives
with his wife and four babies high in a hollow treetop. He is
particularly fond of eating frogs, fishes, and porcupines.
Hunters like the fur of these fearless animals and hunt them
in the forested parts of Canada and the United States. There
aren't too many of them left.

Here is a hilarious relay
race to play indoors maybe
on a rainy day. Have the
players form two lines. At the
opposite end of the room
place two folding chairs and
two buckets, each containing
a pair of canvas work gloves
and an umbrella.
At the word "go," the first
ones in each line run to the
chairs, unfold them, sit down,
put on the gloves, open the
umbrellas, put their feet in
the buckets and say, "It ain't
gonna rain no more, no more.
It ain't gonna rain no more!"
Then they each step out of the
bucket, remove the gloves,
close the umbrella and fold
up the chair before returning
to their teams. They go to .the
end of the line and the next
two players repeat this until
one of the teams has finished.
The first to do so, wins!

This is an old game that has
been played by grownups, but
it can be enjoyed by children,
too', if toys are used instead
of household articles.
The hostess asks the play
ers to sit in a circle. Then she
leaves the room and returns
with a large tray filled with
toys which are covered with
a cloth. She places the tray
in ihe center of the circle (on
a table or on the floor) and
hands each guest a slip of
paper and a pencil. She lifts
the cloth from the tray and
gives the players a full min
ute to look at the toys. Then
she covers the tray again and
tells each player to write
down the names of the toys.
The game can be as hard or
easy as you wish by choosing
more or fewer toys to put on
the tray.
The player with the most
complete list wins. If any
player writes down the name
of a toy that is not on the
tray, he must sing a song or
recite a poem or perform
some other stunt.
