The home of Mr. and Mrs.
James VanDerSteen, 126 Clover
lane, was the scene Sunday aft
ernoon, March 31, of a reception
honoring Mrs. Don Anderson,
department president of Ore
gon for the National auxiliary,
United Spanish War Veterans.
Mrs. Bertha Nelson, president
and the members of Colonel
Sargent auxiliary were hostesses,
assisted by Mrs. VanDerSteen.

noon. Among dignitaries at the
reception were Mrs. Fred Daugh

ans; Mrs. Bessie Sutton, Cor

burg. Mrs. Anderson received many
gifts and congratulatory mes
sages. The orchid corsage she
wore was a gift of her husband
and son.

Miss Kay Luella Dim ford
IVed to John Thomas Sinsel
Eagle Point Community Bible church was the setting Satur
day, March 30, for the wedding of Miss Kay Luella Dunford to
John Thomas Sinsel of Minden, Neb. The Rev. Joseph Munshaw
read the ceremony at 8 o'clock in the evening, and the re
ception which followed was in the church parlors. About 150
guests attended.
The bride is a daughter of Mrs.
Norman A. Dunford, and the
bridegroom's parents are Mr.
and Mrs. John Sinsel, Minden.
The bride's gown was design
ed and made by a college friend
and sorority sister, Celia Clog-
ston Ox Medford. The bodice was
of embroidered nylon crystal
line and the billowing skirt was
of tulle over taffeta in the tra
ditional white. She carried yel
low roses and white hyacinths
centered with a white orchid.
Miss Clogston was honor at
tendant and bridesmaids were
Miss Barbara Bruegger and Miss
Lena Tibbits, both Eagle Point.
All three wore frocks of green
with net overskirts and match
ing hats, and carried baskets of
daffodils and ivy.
Catty Bishop, cousin of the
bride from Central Point, was
flower girl. She wore a frock of
yellow taffeta with full skirt and
overskirt of green net. Ward
Bishop, another cousin, was ring
bearer.
David and Carol Endicott,
Veneta, Ore., lighted the can
dles. Carol's dress was of pale
green taffeta with yellow net
overskirt.
Rowland W. Bishop, uncle of
the bride from Portland, gave
her in marriage. Ward Sinsel,
Idaho Falls, Ida., was best man
for his brother and ushers were
Alan Bishop, cousin of the bride
from Central Point, and Richard
Bishop, Yacolt, Wash., another
cousin.
Mrs. Raymond Chamberlain
played the organ music and Mrs,
Charles Champlin, Medford,
sang.
Large baskets filled with for-
sythia and white snapdragons,
and arrangements of daffodils
and ferns decorated the church
for the wedding. .
For the reception the wedding
cake was cut and served by Mrs.
William Endicott and Mrs. Wil
liam Addison. Mrs. Carl Chris
tian and Mrs. Larry Wilson pour
ed, and Miss Jean Bitterling took
charge of the guest book.
Hector Smith, cousin of the
bride from Eugene, came to the
wedding wearing a Scotch kilt
of Gordon tartan, the bride's
family tartan, and played the
traditional "Salute to the Bride
and Bridegroom" on the bag
pipes before the wedding cake
was cut.
For the wedding and recep
tion the bride's mother wore a
lace gown of cinnamon brown
with pink hat and accessories j

her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs.
Rowland W. Bishop and their

a member of Zeta Tau Alpha
sorority. Mr. Sinsel is a graduate
of the Minden High school.
Society Announces
Annual Luncheon
First of the post-Easter func
tions for the city will be the an
nual Easter Monday luncheon
of St. Anne's Altar society, Sac
red Heart CPtholic church. It
will be helu at Rogue Valley
Country club at 1 pjn.
This traditional event, open
to all women, is under the chair
manship this year of Mrs. Vin
cent Nicoletti.

Mr. and Mrs. Elsworth Miller,
Binghamton, N.Y., recently
spent ten days in Medford visit
ing Mr. Miller's cousin, and his
wife, Mr. and Mrs. Harry E.
Miller, 1612 Orchard Home
drive.
The Millers, who flew to Med
ford, visited in Oregon and Cali
fornia during their stay here.
Brother Arrives
From Stockholm
Hildebrand Anderson, con
tractor from Stockholm, Swe
den arrived in Medford last
week to visit his brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David
Anderson, 3443 Jacksonville
highway.
Mr. Anderson, who had not
seen his brother for 30 years,
visited several large cities in the
East prior to arriving in Med
ford by plane. He will remain
here two weeks before return
ing to Sweden by the way of
San Francisco.

Israel To Be Topic
For UN Chapter
Mrs. Dvora Elon, writer, lec
turer, and broadcaster from
Israel, will be speaker Thursday
evening at the Medford chapter
of Oregon United Nations asso
ciation. The meeting will be held at 8
p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal
church parish house;.
Mrs. Elon who will speak on
"Israel as a Melting Pot," was
born in Jerusalem and attended
school in Tel-Aviv. She holds the
degree of doctor of natural
sciences from Rome university
and has worked for two years
at the Agricultural Experimen
tal station in Rehovoth as assist
ont director of the Institute of
Plant Pathology.
