For Korean Blind
Thirty-two Korean families
with one or both parents blind
have moved f?om makeshift
shelters along a dike, or under
bridges, or in a riverbed at
Taejon, Into comfortable, two
family cottages that make
'Heavenly Light Village," south
of Taejon. Their new homes
were constructed of materials
from Korea Civil Assistance
Command. Church World serv
ice, which provided funds for
construction of the homes from
American donors, reports the
progress.
The blind colony, developed
by Mrs. Dexter Lutz, wife of
the agricultural director of the
Union Christian Service center,
has a Bible C'ub Primary school
attended by 50 children and an
active 4-H club. Its "Virginia
Milk Kitchen serves 150 cups
of hot milk gruel daily.
Blind adults are taught to
make straw rope by machine,
to weave, knit, or make bamboo
baskets in 9 program of indus
trial training sponsored by
American Foundation for Over
seas Blind.
Men who have never before
earned money and people who
supposed that they would al
ways remain beggars are now
helping to support their fam
ilies. This program is the only
one of industrial training for
blind people within a large area
of Asia.
Heavenly Light Village's
health program has resulted in
partial restoration of sight for
three blind people, following op
erations, and saving of a small
fraction of sight for the head
teacher.

Half loaf may be better than none . . . but when tt comet
to your home, half a house is not much use to you and your
family.
If you have only half the insurance you need, and your
home were destroyed by fire, windstorm, or other peril ...
you could rebuild only half a house.
We are qualified to help you determine Just what Insur
ance, and how much, you need on
your home and furnishings. Phone
us right now we'll be glad to dis
cus your insurance' problems
with you.
And remember, if you're not
fully insured -it's not enough!
