Grand Opening Set
Thursday for Pick's
Expanded Location
Pick's Apparel, 112 East Main
St., Medford, will hold a fifth an
niversary celebration starting at
9:30 p.m. Thursday when a grand
opening is scheduled for two
new clothing departments, re
cently remodeled, Ralph Pickell,
owner, has announced.
The event marks both the an
niversary and completion of a
long-range plan of expansion
throughout the first floor of the
Robinson hotel building.
Pick's and Robinson Brothers,
which are affiliated business
properties, now occupy the en
tire floor. Robinson's store has
an L-snaped occupancy, with en
trances on both Main and Front
sts., and the expansion now gives
Pick's entrances on both streets
as well as the corner location.
Gifts Planned
As a feature of the expansion
celebration, Pickell said vanity
cases will be given to people pur
chasing shoes in the newly re
modeled and expanded depart
ments. Handbags also will be
sold in the shoe department.
The new shoe department and
a new dress department, also re
modeled, will provide additional
display windows for the store on
the west side of the building.
Pickell said.
Furniture in the shoe depart
ment will ' be oak chairs with
beige nylon upholstery, he ad
ded. Manager of the new depart
ment will be Perry Daboling.
The whole store recently has
been rearranged and trimmed
with a pink and green color
scheme. New departments at
store bring its total floor space
to 3.500 square feet, compared to
1.000 square feet when it opened
five years ago.
