competition by Peggy Richey
and John Jones, both students
at Med ford High school, hav
been chosen to compete in the
HaMmark Honor prize, it
announced Saturday.
Their entries were among five
selected for Hallmark compe
tition. CThe other three were en
tered by Portland high school
students.
Selections were made by
judges of the regional compe
tition which is sponsored by
Lipman's Department store in
Portland, where an exhibit of
art representing all high school
in the area is now being held
under sponsorship of Scholastic
magazines.
National Exhibit
At the close of the regional
exhibit, the five paintings will
be forwarded to the national
high school art exhibition, that
opens at the Carnegie Institute,
Pittsburgh, on May 10. One of
the five will be chosen for a
