Road treasurer Rudy Bundy
says the circus had no choice
but to fold the big top. The com
pany, which used to transport its
own ushers and ticket sellers,
has cut back to find a firmer
financial footing. Bundy es
timates expenses will be slashed
from S175.000 to 560,000 a week.
In the Blood
The circus gets in a man's
blood, and performers who left
last summer are trekking back
to Saiasota. They are optimistic.
Equestrian director Bob Dover
says the new setup is "the great
est thing that ever happened to
the circus. Most of us had to live
in a car with 30 or 40 other
people. Now it will be a lot
cleaner and better for everyone."
"Now," he added, "we will be
able to take at least one shower
a day."
Trevor Bale, who does a dar

"You just can't keep somethiig

Eden in New Zealand
For Recuperation
Auckland, N.Z. (U.P.) For
mer British Prime Minister Sir
Anthony Eden, weakened by
two ship board attacks of fever,
walked off the liner Rangitata
with the aid of a cane today and
told a news conference "I am
feeling better now."
Eden looked pale and drawn
after the two recurrences of the
intestinal ailment which forced
him to resign as prime minister
last month.
. Dr. Peter Hinds, the 27-year-old
ship's doctor, who cared for
Eden on the 32-day trip from
England emphatically denied the
retired diplomat had suffered a
stroke.
Eden arrived here with his
wife to start a month-long per
iod of rest and- recuperation.
New Zealand Prime Minister
Sidney Holland welcomed them
at the dock.
