PACKARD OK DISPLAY The 1957 Pack
ard is now on display at De Leigh Motors, 134
South Riverside ave., Medford. This year's
Packard four-door sedan is two inches lower
than the 1956 model. The new Packard is
powered by a 275-horsepower V-8 engine
equipped with a supercharger. The car also
has automatic transmission as standard equip
ment and trie twin-traction power-dividing
axle as optional equipment.
Bids Invited on
Surplus Articles
Bids have been invited on
about 88 items of surplus gov
ernment property previously
owned by the national park
service, according to Tom Wil
liams, superintendent of Crater
Lake National park. ,
Bids are being received at the
National park office, room 307,
post office building, Medford.
They will be opened Feb. 2.
The property can be inspested
between 1 and 4 p.m. Jan. 29
and 31 and Feb. 1 and 5 by con
tacting Basil G. Curtis, supply
clerk at the national park office.
The surplus items are stored at
the Jackson county fairgrounds.

entertainment at the Gold Hill

party Sunday evening when
some 30 high school and upper

Cummins, where they dried their
clothes, and warmed up with hot

of Mr. and Mrs. Ardon Burns,
and Bob Paine, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lauran Paine, were mem
bers of the Trampoline club of

23. The team reported that over
40 calls concerning their act
were received by the TV station
during their performance, some
from as far away as Klamath

given by the Boy Scouts Friday

taking the prize for best costume
in the girls' division, and Benny
Crawford, best in the boys' di
vision. Chaperones were Mr.
and Mrs. Al Gregory, Mr. and
Mrs. Lauran Paine, and Mr. and
Mrs. Loren Cummins. Next social
event for the Scouts will be
a box social in February.
The Hornbrook- elementary
school will be the clinic center
for the administering of free
polio shots for Hornbrook, Fall
creek, and Bogus. They will be
given Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 9:30
a.m. to all children in these area
from three months of age
through high school. Parents of
infants and preschool children
may obtain request slips for
polio immunization at the school
in their district, according to
Mrs. Margaret Esrey, Director of
School Health Supervisors for
Siskiyou county.
