hangs, walks, fences the ex
panses of lumber in use are

Silver in X-Ray
Negatives 'Panned'
" Harrisburg, Pa. (U.R) The
state has come up with an idea
which may be one of the last
words in economy a plan to
"pan" the silver in the solution
used in developing X-ray nega
tives. .
According to a statement from
the Department of Property and
supplies, the processing solution
formerly has been poured down
the drain. But by merely adding
zinc powder the soluble silver
is- precipitated out of the solu
tion and "panned" in much the
same- manner made famous by
gold hunters in the Klondike.
Fifty pounds of zinc powder,
costing S10, will net from $800
to S 1,500 of the "noble metal,"
the department says. And the
scheme may bring a. profit of
about S25.000 a year.
