Note it said the Duke of Edin
burgh, rated one of the world s
best dressed men, wears double
breasted suits. That's wrong.
The Duke favors single breasted
suits which he has made by a
Saville Row tailor in London
and for which he pays the equi

Honor Society
Have you been faithful to
your wife for 25 years? Don't
answer me. That certainly is
none of my business. However,
if your answer is in the affirma
tive, please be informed that if
you were an Abyssinian you
would be elected to membership
in an honor society and be
awarded a medal. This society
called "The Order of Fidelity''
was established by Emperor
Haile Selassie of Abyssinia. With
all men who have been faithful
to their wives for 25 years being
eligible. How exclusive the so
ciety is I have not been informed.
Eye Exercises
How is your eyesight? Have
you ever considered taking eye
exercises? To hand is a commu
nication from an 83-year-old
Californian, who reads without
glasses. She discarded spectacles
when 63, after taking eye exer
cises. I have heard of others who
have had similar results with
that type of treatment.
Sidelights
When eating an apple don't
peel it. Especially if your hair
is thinning. Apple peel contains
many of the most important hair
minerals . . . What's the record
for the largest tip received in
Manhattan night club history?
Sam Herman, band vocalist, once
received a Sl.OOO tip from an
inebriated night club patron for
singing. "The Sidewalks of New
York."
Get It Right
Asked who invented the
steamboat, a competitor on a re
cent television quiz program
said it was Robert Fulton. The
answer was accepted. It was
wrong. Two hundred and sixty
four years before Fulton's steam
boat appeared, in 1543, to be
exact, Blasco de Garay, a Span
ish inventor, built and sailed a
steamboat in the harbor of Bar
celona. Bonfire
Mae West. Last of the Brok
lyn Bonfires. Mae's first stage
appearance was as a juvenile
actress at the Gotham Theatre,
Brooklyn. She played the part of
the Angel Child in "Ten Nights
In A Barroom."
Briefly
As for that oft repeated claim
that oysters are good only in
the "R" months. There's nothing
to it. Oysters are good all the
year round and are at their best
in May ... A New Y'orker ques
tions my reference to Eva Tan
guay as "a lively blonde." He
says Eva was not a blonde but
a redhead. Eva was originally a
blonde. Later on in her career
she switched to being a redhead.
Development Group
Denies Charges
Portland (U.R) The Ore
gon Development Commission
Saturday denied charges leveled
by Sen. Richard L. Neuberger
(D-Ore ), that a commission in
dustrial brochure had been
"stacked" in favor of private
power developments.
The Portland Democrat had
charged that the commission's
brochure "Evaluation of Indust
rial Opportunities of Oregon,"
had ignored the role of low-cost
federal power in the state's in
dustrial development. He claim
ed that the commissioners were
private power advocates.
In its reply, the commission
said "The Development Com
mission has not been and is riot
anti-federal power or pro-private
power."
The statement continued "The
commission is on record recog
nizing the critical need for ad
ditional electric power and has
expressed confidence in the ab
ility of both public and private
agencies to solve this serious
i problem . . ."
