Make Your Own
Christmas Cards
Directions Given
Christmas cards sparkling
with originality, and a touch
of your personality, need not
be a costly Yuletide item. Just
an . inexpensive card can be
given that "something special"
look In a few minutes by using
some of the many low-cost deco
ration ifems being offered this
year. All that's needed to pro
duce this bit of magic are a
packet ol sequins, a vial of glit
tering Stardust, a plastic squeeze
tube of the new clear-drying
glue, and your imagination.
The key to the project is the
new polyvinyl acetate glue-all
which will bond wood, paper and
cloth to almost anything. It dries
fast and clear and therefore can
not mar your cards. It is avail
able in plastic tubes or squeeze
bottles.
Here are a few ideas:
Apply a thin coat of the glue
in an artistic swath over your
card. (Remember: it dries clear!)
Apply vari-colored Stardust to
the glue film to transform your
plain card into an "expensive"
one.
If your cards have a Santa
Claus design, glue on little tufts
of cotton for the beard, hat and
cuffs. You can apply a trail of
Stardust for his reindeer. Cut
out little silver snow moons and
glue them in the sky. A small
piece of yellow or gold paper
will give you that warming light
in the window.
When your cards have animals
on them, use a speck of glue and
a sequin for a bright glittering
eye. Metal or foil stars, snow
flakes, canes, wreaths and many
other seasonal designs are avail
able in small packets. These can
be glued on the cards in a jiffy
limited only by the design of
the card and your imagination.
