Holbrook Book Reviewed for Wednesday Club
Mrs. C. W. Mitchel reviewed
the book, "The Columbia," by
Stewart H. Holbrook, author of
several books on well known
rivers, at the last meeting of
Wednesday Study club.
The books on the Rivers of
America series have been called
by Newsweek, some of the most
interesting volumes of Ameri
cana ever written lor its DUtn
volume, the editors have chosen
"The Columbia' the great river
of the Northwest. The "Oregon"
was the famed river of the West
in men's imagination, but when
it was finally seen by the white
men in 1792, it was named for
the Columbia, first ship to come
over the bar, commanded by
Capt. Robert Gray. .
Miss Anna Streed, guest speak
er of the club, discussed the
book. "The Wheel of Health," by
Dr. G. T. Wrench, It is the
theory of the author that all dis
eases have their origin in the
lack of life giving foods, and
that perfect health is derived
from food.
