7:30 p.m.
Parents are to go to their
child's room where each teacher
will be available for consulta
tions and where parents may
acquaint themselves with class
room procedures. PTA member
ships will be available in each
room from room representatives.
The usual business meeting
will not be held, and copies of
the minutes of the previous meet
ing will be available at the door
of the gymnasium, where a short
program and refreshments are
planned after the room visita
tions. Those attending are asked to
be prepared with small coins
for a surprise to be offered dur
inz the meeting.
No baby sitting service will
be offered during the meeting.
Dr. A. Erin Merkel spoke at
the last meeting of the associa
tion, his topic being "Infectious
Hepatitis." He described the
symptons of the disease and its
treatment.
Mrs. Maxine Berryman, grade
school music teacher, directed
the elementary chorus in several
numbers.
Mrs. Stan Smith, president,
spoke of the importance of the
school census.
Mothers of children in the
third grade served refreshments.

tional church Thursday. It was
held in Pilgrim house at the
church.
The meeting started at 10 a.m.
with a study group on Southeast
Asia which was led by Mrs. Don
Bohnert.

Past Grands' Club
Elects Officers;
Party Announced
Officers for the coming year
were elected at a meeting of Past
Noble Grands' club. Olive
Rebekah lodge, held at the'home
of Mrs. Frank Chapman. Mrs.
Margaret Davis, the retiring
chairman, presided.
The new officers are Mrs.
Dolly Love, president; Mrs. Clara
Franklyn, vice-president; Mrs.
Dana Bowers, secretary -treasurer.
Plans were made for the an
nual Christmas dinner and party.
It will be held December 15 at
the IOOF hall, and gifts will be
exchanged. All shut-ins of the
club are to be remembered at
Christmas.
A gift of money was voted for
and Odd Fellows home in Port
land, this to be used at Christmas
time for the guests in the home.
Refreshments were served by
a committee headed by Mrs.
Fred Daugherty. She was assisted
by Mrs. Shirrell Doty,' Mrs. Ed
Dameron, Mrs. George Howard,
Mrs. Carl Pearson and Mrs.
Frank English.

Annual Bazaar
Of Presbyterians
Set For Friday
Women of First Presbyterian
church have been busy for the
past several weeks preparing for
the annual Harvest Festival and
bazaar, one of the major events
of the year for the women of
this church. It will be held Fri
day, November 16, in the church,
with the doors to open at
9:30 a. m.
Mrs. John Henson. chairman
of the bazaar, state that a great
variety of articles will be on
sale. There will be an apron
booth, homemade candy and
fruit cake will be on sale, and
a selection of Yuletide decora
tions will be offered. For the
small fry there will be doll
clothes and other suitable ar
ticles. For the pantry shelf there will
be james, jellies and pickles.
Of special interest will be a
bootii with articles received
from the China Refugee Develop
ment at Hongkong. This will in
clude handmade purses, glass
cases, dolls aprons, and other
articles.
Mrs. M. H. Parsons of Bethany
circle is chairman of the smorgas
board luncheon to be served from
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Coffee
and homemade pastries will be
served in the Fireplace room
throughout the day, and in the
evening the Men's club will
serve a roast beef dinner from
6 to 8 p.m.
A free nursery will be pro
vided all day for the convenience
of mothers of pre-school children.
