HERE'S THE RECORD

WORSE
HBBOMB Doug McKay strongly supports President Eisenhower's wise
position on the hydrogen bomb, saying that "to end H-bomb tests would impair
America's defenses to the advantage of Sovief Russia unless and until Russia
agrees to a satisfactory inspection."
PEACE EFFORTS Doug McKay is a veteran of two wars. As a member
of President Eisenhower's cabinet he helped shape the policies that stopped the
war in Korea, and was a stalwart supporter of the program that offers us our
greatest hope for world peace.
ABOUT CRITICISM Doug McKay says: "What adds to world confi
dence in the leadership of the President of the United States adds to the cause
of world peace. What subtracts from confidence in our President dims the
hope for peace."
ABOUT IKE Doug McKay has always been a strong supporter of President
Eisenhower and this is what Eisenhower says of him: "Put someone, into
public office upon whose word you can depend. I bring this name to you in that
connection: DOUG McKAY."
ON PRINCIPLE Doug McKay has always put his state and nation above
self-interest. Doug McKay has frequently been described by President Eisenhower
as a man of "ability, honesty, and integrity."
H"BOMB Wayne Morse supports Adlai Stevenson's politically inspired
proposal to end hydrogen-bomb tests prematurely and without safeguards, a
proposal that played right into the hands of Soviet Russia.
PEACE EFFORTS Wayne Morse opposed the effort to stop shipment
of jet fuel to Red China. Wayne Morse voted against the Formosa resolution,
which brought peace to that area. Wayne Morse voted against the mutual
defense treaty with Free China.
ABOUT CRITICISM When world confidence was so vital to strengthen
the hand of President Eisenhower as he worked to stop the war in Korea, Wayne
Morse described President Eisenhower as "the most dangerous man who will
ever have been in the White House."
ABOUT IKE Wayne. Morse's record is one of bitter personal opposition
to President Eisenhower.
ON PRINCIPLE Wayne Morse's record is one of putting his own political
interests above principles.
