Mr. Bob G- Norns served last year as reporter for Alpha Rho
chapter. Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and this year is secretary for the
chapter. The Norrises have two children, Danny, 4, and Mickey Sue,
8 months, so Mrs. Norris has little time for activities outside of her
home ond family. The family recently moved to a new home at 2368
Crater lake avenue.

Mrs. Ross Minnecl, 224 Vancouver avenue, who was reporter for
Medford unit, American Legion auxiliary, last year is president of
the unit this season. The Minnecis have three sons, Steven, Bill and
David, all in school, and in addition to her home duties Mrs. Minneci
works with 8 ond 40, is a vice-president of Roosevelt PTA, a Red Cross
volunteer and also works as a hospital volunteer at Camp White.

Publicity chairman last term for Medford Jaycettes was Mrs. Ted
McLean, 335 Maple street. The McLeans moved to Medford from
Eugene a year and a half ago. Their children are Terry, who considers
himself lucky to live right across the street from Lincoln school, ond
Danny, who is a year old. Mrs. McLean here embroiders a colorful
Christmas table cloth sent to her from Norway by a friend.

Another busy homemoker and club worker is Mrs. C. C. Peterson,
2584 Bullock road, reporter for Alpha lambda chapter, Epsilon Sigma
Alpha sorority. Mrs. Peterson has written for Howard Extension unit,
and submits other news. The Petersons have three children, Rita, 4;
Lorelei, 2'A, and Wayne, 7 months. Mrs. Peterson does much canning
of fruits and vegetables, makes pickles and jelly, bakes and sews.

Salute to Reporters

In observance of. National. Newspaper . week, which closes
October 8, the Mail Tribune today salutes that important worker,
the club publicity chairman. The nine women pictured here will
be introduced at the annual reporter's school which the women's
department of the paper will hold Tuesday, October 9, at the
YMCA, and will be commended for their superior reporting for
the organizations which each represents.
tike the typical American club worker, most of the nine have
families, are homemakers and work in churches, parent-teacher
units, lodges and for civic groups such as the Red Cross. All are
busy, but they found time last club year to turn out good copy
which told the story of the activities in which their group engaged.
At Tuesday's reporting school club correspondents will be in
structed how to prepare copy for the paper, and problems common
to organization publicity chairmen will be discussed. An informal
tea will follow. The event is set from 2:30 until 4 p.m.
Anyone who submits copy to the Mail Tribune, or anyone
interested is invited to attend.

last year Mrs. Frank Benesh, 12 North Keeneway drive, reported
' for both Kiwanian Dames and Roosevelt PTA. last week she cut out a
' dress for the doll which Kiwanian Dames will dress for the annual
Girl Scout camp fund project. Mrs. Benesh is a Brownie troop organ
izer, works in Roosevelt PTA and in First Presbyterian Sunday school.

Mrs. Joe Gregory, member and past matron of Adarel chapter,
Ora'er of Eastern Star, has written publicity both for the chapter and
the past matrons' club. Mrs. Gregory is shown here at work at The
California-Oregon Power company where she is secretary to H. P.
Bosworth Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Gregory and her father, Charles Bole, who
came here recently from Colorado, live at 17 Kenwood avenue.

look over the chapter scrap book. Mrs. Rudd is office secretary for
the Teamsters' union, in Medford. Mrs. Caster is a secretary for Rob
inson, Potter and Ripley, and lives in Phoenix with her son, Dennis, 2Vb.

Mrs. Morvin I. Nelson, 225 Cottoge street, served as publicity
chairman, for Sojourners' club last term, now holds offices in Trinity
circle. First Presbyterian church, and in the church school. Mrs. Nelson
dusts an heirloom lamp which belonged first to her maternal grand
mother, a Kentuckian, and has other antique furniture in her home.
The Nelson's son, Lee, attends Roosevelt school and plays in the band.
