One of fall $ important weddings was that of Miss Laura Mae
Huson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darell F. Huson, 45 Lindley street,
to Douglas Oliver Wall of Seattle. The newlyweds are shown cutting
the traditional first slice of wedding cake during the reception which
followed the ceremony. Both the ceremony and the reception took
place at First Presbyterian church. The young people formerly were

Mrs. Douglas Oliver Wall (Laura Mae Huson) chose a gown of
loce and net for her wedding last week end at First Presbyterian
church. Her jewelry included a necklace of gold and pearls which was
the bridegroom's gift, and a diamond ring in the shape of a cross
which is an heirloom in the bridegroom's family. It was brought to
the wedding by his aunt, Mrs. Lyle F. Morrison, Huntington Park,

Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Ray Holzgang were married September 8 at ;
Sacred Heart Catholic church here, with 200 guests attending. The
bride is the former Darrelyn Patricia Ettel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Ettel, Route 1, Medford, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr.
and Mrs. George Holzgang, 626 Park street. T.e newlywed pair will '
live in Eugene where the bridegroom is enrolled in a pre-medical

A New Life Begins

The wedding day, the arrival of a new daughter-in-law
from a foreign land, and the adventure of going
away to school for the first time these all represent the
beginning of a new life for young people.
Last week end saw two large fall weddings. Miss
Laura Mae Huson was married to Douglas Oliver Wall of
Seattle September 7 at First Presbyterian church and
Miss Darrelyn Patricia Ettel became the bride of Curtis
Ray Holzgang on September 8 in a ceremony held at
Sacred Heart Catholic church.
Another event of interest in the city last week end
was the reception which Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitlock
gave to introduce their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Richard
Whitlock, the former Ruth Otte of Nurnberg, Germany,
to relatives and friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Whitlock ar
rived here recently from Germany where he had been
stationed with the Army for more than two years.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Whitlock have arrived In Medford from Nurn
berg, Germany, where Mr. Whitlock was assigned to duty with the Army.
Mrs. Whitlock, the former Ruth Otte, daughter of Mrs. Hanni Ofte of Nurn
berg, was married to the Medford man February 13. Mr. Whitlock is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitlock, 1425 Crater Lake avenue, who
honored the young couple at a reception last Sunday at their home. The
returned soldier has enrolled at Southern Oregon college in pre-dentistry.

Planning a college wardrobe is a big thrill ond here two June graduates of Medford Senior High
school discuss what they will pack for college this fall. Miss Shirley Stafford (at left) shows her pretty new green
print formal gown to Miss Marilyn Olson. Miss Stafford will leave September 20 for Pomona college in southern
California and Miss Olson will enter Stanford university at Palo Alto this fall. Both are entering college with
freshman honors. Miss Stafford is the younger daughter of Colonel ond Mrs. Charles Stafford, 1914 Westerlund
drive, ond Miss Olson's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Warren Olson, 1430 Euclid avenue. Both girls will fake to school

These three pretty Medford students will be full-fledged coeds in a few more days. Miss Mira Frohnmoyer
(at left). Miss Meredith Foote and Miss Nancy McKeown all leave today for school. Miss Frohnmoyer and Miss
McKeown for the University of Oregon and Miss Foote for Oregon State college. All three are June graduates of
Medford High school, and Miss Foote was valedictorian of her class. The girls posed at the home of Miss Frohn
mayer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Frohnmoyer, Spring street; Miss Foote is a daughter of Mrs. Ruth Foote,
18 Portland street, and Miss McKeown's parents are Mr. and Mrs. F. J. McKeown, 109 South Orange street. Miss
