a total enrollment fee of $12.75,
it was announced today.
Registration begins tomorrow
' and continues through Friday.
AU high school students must
register and at the time of their
registration they will also sched
ule classes for the coming year.
The enrollment fee includes
book fee, $1.25 towel fee for
students taking physical educa
tion (all freshmen and sopho
mores except those excused by
their doctors), $1.50 for physical
education locks for boys only ($1
of which will be refunded at the
end of the year), and $4 for stu
dent body cards which admit
students to all home games free
and to games away from home
and motion picture theaters at
student rates.
The high school will be open
for registering students Wednes
day from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to
4 p.m.; Thursday. 9 a.m. to noon
1 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m.; Fri
day, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to
4 p.m.

Six Fined for Illegal
Possession of Alcohol
Three young men and three ju
veniles were each fined SI 5 in
district court Monday for illegal
possession of intoxicating liquor.
Fined were Teddy Lorice
Muff. 20, Suncrest ranch, box
441, Talent; Kenneth Ray Sims,
Talent Cabins, Talent: and Jerry
Allen Johnstone, 18, Jackson
ville. They were arrested Saturday
by city police at 12:35 a m. along
with a 16-year-old Medford girl
and a 15-year-old Ashland girl.
An officer found them in a car
at Fourth st. and Central ave..
after the police had received a
complaint that several young
people were causing a disturb
ance at Cubby s Dnve-ln on
Stewart ave., at the south city
limits.
The girls were released to
their parents by County Juvenile
Officer Kay Crowell.
Also fined in district court
yesterday were two 16-year-old
boys and one 17-year-old boy, all
of Butte Falls. They were arrest
ed last Saturday charged with
illegal possession of intoxicating
liquor.
GOP May Face Defeat,
Sen. McCarthy Warns
Washington U.R) Sen. Jo
seph R. McCarthy warned today
the Republicans may face a
1948-type defeat this fall if they
pitch their presidential campaign
on "sweetness and light."
The Wisconsin Republican, oft
en at odds with the Eisenhower
administration, said he thinks it
"important" the Repubicans win
tn November. But he indicated
they will have to get tough to
do it.

day, the Republicans would win
hand down," he said in an in
terview. But he said the Democratic
standard bearers Adlai E. Stev
enson and Sen. Estes Kefauver
(D-Tenn.V are preparing to wage
a fighting campaign while the
Republicans appear to be plan

and light" battle.
Eagles to Observe
30th Anniversary
Crater Lake Aerie. 2093, Fra
ternal Order of Eagles, will cele
brate the 30th anniversary of
their institution Thursday.
A small group of men organiz
ed the local aerie, which now has
a membership of more than 500.
Worthy President Everett Sy-
brant announces that the eve
ning's activities will start with a
dinner for all Eagles and their
families from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.,
under supervision of Billy Rog
ers, aerie chef.
Following the dinner, the aerie
meeting will be held in honor of
the charter members. A special
initiation will be held with the
new drill team taking part in
full uniform. There will be a
special stage entertainment pro
gram following the meeting.
